Like a phoenix rising from the ashes of Grade, Zyon and New Day Rising, The Black Maria present their new album, “Lead Us To Reason”. While each member of the band has a long history of success in music – The Black Maria has nothing to do with those stories, rather it is a group vision, evolving in the process of invention, and it is a story all its own. With evocative lyrics and a gorgeous, layered musical framework, their music defies category, walking the razor edge of genre toward their own precise statement.

i bought this cd after hearing tracks #1 and #4 ... but these two tracks are the stand-out songs on the album! the rest of the album is alright, but not totally what i had expected. the production quality and artwork are great, but not all the songs have that "hook" to keep your interest. similar in sound to silverstein & boys night out, but with less screaming and more melody. there is some major untapped potential for this band!

You people (who commented earlier) are retarded!

GET OVER THE WHOLE GRADE DEAL!! How hard is it to understand? Stop comparing The Black Maria to Grade. Grade isn't a band anymore for a reason! If Kyle wanted to be in a band that sounded like Grade, the band would probably have continued. Bishop wanted to get away from the whole Grade sound. Whoever commented on how it's "scene" to like the Black Maria, I think they've got it backwards. It's scene to like bands that emerged in the VAIN of Grade... like Silverstein (record produced by Kyle Bishop) and Boys Night Out(ex/ex Grade drummer). It's scene to like the bands that Grade paved the way for. It ain't scene to like post-hardcorish tunes, ala Black Maria.

Now, to the CD. It's a nice split between energetic tunes and melodic/somber tunes. The production is amazing. Really good quality. It's a pretty consistent sound. They've got alot of potential and their live show has improved alot. I suggest checking them out.

the worst cd i have bought in a long long time and i just recently purchased the newer anniversary cd, and thats a pretty bad cd, i dont know what it was i didnt like exactly cause i couldnt get past the first few songs before i started to throw up in my mouth, its that bad, i dont know what the fuck interpunk was thinking putting grades name underneith this cd but it was a far far cry from it, it sounds like everything else out there in the world, so if you want to be scene and like that shitty scene music buy this cd as soon as possible and then dye your hair black, forget who you used to be and cry once a day,

Well, I know some Grade fans are going to be dissapointed with this album, but I appreaciate the fact that there's actually some soulful singing with a FEW screams from Kyle for good measure.

This is probably what Grade would've sounded like with a singer and if they had matured or not.

The album is consistant, but still, not amazing. The Black Maria definitely have some potential.

If you're a fan of Grade and/or good, rockin' music, pick this up.

Ok I love Grade, but Black Maria, not very much. They are catchy and melodic, but they are missing the true emotion that Grade had. I still love this album, but it is nothing compared to Grade. If you like most Victory bands, then you will like this, I promise.
