Pretty good record. Great deal to get the CD to. Wondered why "A Boy Named Sue" didn't make the vinyl...probably one of the best songs. I expected a bit more from certain tracks (Pale Blue Eyes) but others make up for 'em. (Evil Ways). Interested to see what Agent Jay has got coming up next.

this is pretty sweet, i was expecting it to be a little cooler, i think the zeppelin cover was a little weak, but the come together cover is awesome, and all the other songs are really cool, too. anybody who collects vinyl or just loves reggae should get this, its fun.

Buy this album. Put it on your record player. Turn up the bass. Dance.

For fans of any reggae, rocksteady, or ska music. The grooves on this album are amazing and instantly dance-able. Great singers from all different ska/reggae bands sing their representations of old songs. I highly suggest getting this album.

I came for the reggae but stayed for the soul. The Sound of '69 is a collection of songs put together by Agent Jay (AKA Crazy Baldhead) of The Slackers, with a little help from his friends and bandmates. If you're a fan of 60s Rock n' Roll, Jamaican Rocksteady, The Beatles, James Brown or generally good music, then this one's for you. Listenable from beginning to end, this album will take you on an off-beat trip through some of the best music that 1969 had to offer. Buy it on vinyl (with its accopmanying CD) so you can hear it in the unadulterated old-school way OR just buy it on CD if you think vinyl is for model airplanes.
