| Plain and Simple the Dead Kennedy's are one the best punk bands ever. This album is no acception as it is full of great songs and Jello Biafra's witty yet unconventional lyrics. My favorite songs on this cd are "bleed for me" and "I am the owl." But the bottom line here is that they're all good songs |

| A classic.
No other way to say it.
On this CD you get a more classic DKs sound in 'Plastic Surgery Disasters' bundled with the hardcore 'In God We Trust Inc.'. Although individually great (I would say PSD to be better than IGWT) together they merge to create a phenomenal CD, especially when you set your player to shuffle and merge the two.
There are a few sub par efforts, but on the hwole every song is great. My favourites - and there are a lot - are Terminal Preppie, Moon Over Marin, Halloween, Moral MAjority, Nazi Punks Fuck Off (Name one person who DOESNT like it!), Bleed For Me and We've Got A Bigger Problem Now - a jazz cover of their own California Uber Alles.
Jello Biafra, as always, is the FUCKING MAN. His lyrics are hilarious at times, yet always meaningful. Well, mostly - unless I'm missing a hidden message in Dog Bite...
So over all, a great album. Everyone should own it, and whats best of all is that this is the Manifesto recording! Anything else would fuel East Gay Ray's crusade to destroy Jello Biafra and plaster the DKs on Levis adverts. What a dick. |

| The Dead Kennedys were one of the greatest punk bands ever! This Album is perfect for established fans. New listeners would be discouraged by the way DK's style varies on this album. This album is great for someone that thinks the system fucks them, cause it does. Buy this album today. R.I.P. Gabe. -PUBLIC DISTRUST- |

| If you are a fan of DK, then get this. It has a good mix of their style of music, and a must for collectors. I would recommend getting "Fresh Fruit..." and "Give Me Convenience..." first, though. |

| The Dead Kennedys released two follow-ups to Fresh Fruit. One was the 12" EP In God We Trust, Inc. The other was the full-length Plastic Surgery Disasters. Both are compiled here in their entirety. Plasitic Surgery starts out great (Government Flu, Terminal Preppie, Trust Your Mechanic) and Ends excellently (Moon over Marin). The problem is that the rest of album is rather average and pales in comparision to some other DK recordings. In God We Trust is a much better album and is reason enough to pick this one up. I features such classics as "Dog Bite", "Nazi Punks Fuck Off", and "Religious Vomit". This is the classic Hardcore album that enraged so many christian groups and demonstrated the The Dead Kennedys on top of their game. Plastic Surgery captured the Kennedys at their angryist and most aggressive. It even includes a Ronald Reagonized lounge version of "California Uber Alles". Neat-o! |

| I dunno. I ordered this one, mainly for "Nazi Punks" but I was surprised. I have heard much better from DK. Don't get me wrong, it's a good record, but they've done better. |

| Musically, this album is incredible. Second only to "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables". "Terminal Preppie", "Trust Your Mechanic", "Well Paid Scientist", "Riot", "Moon Over Marin", and "We've Got a Bigger Problem Now" ("California Uber Alles" redone to target Ronald Reagan... and they even added jazz!) are all amazing songs.
Musically is where the incredibility ends. DON'T BUY THIS ALBUM. The three non-Jello DKs screwed Jello over, and released every album except for "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables" on Manifesto. Jello had no say in any of this.
If you just can't resist buying this (I recommend burning it instead), at least buy a few Alternative Tentacles releases to compensate. |
