$14.25

Chicago's own Alkaline Trio give a special hometown Halloween performance at the Metro, backed by the very people that know them best, the true fans. "Alk3" pulls out all the stops with their quick-tempo melodies, heartbreaking lyrics, and hellbound priest costumes, ensuring a Halloween show never to be forgotten. Not since a Misfits show have punk rock and Halloween gone so well together.

Shot on multi-camera (5) digital video, "The Show Must Go Off" DVD series will set the benchmark for the guaranteed barrage of copycat live punk DVD's. Packed with extra footage, behind-the-scenes antics, interviews, not to mention our trademark hidden "easter eggs" and band commentary track, each release in this DVD series will appeal to all levels of fans, from the fair-weather, to the die-hard.

This DVD is great, I love ALK3 and I think its great for any fan. The 18 songs are all awesome, i wish they would have played songs from "good mourning" but its fine.

i am a huge alk3 fan they have been my favorite band since the first time i heard them back in '98 and i love this dvd matts voice is a little shotty and gets worse since it was right before he went in to see a specialist, but the show makes up for it they play a lot of old songs that they havent played in a long time, and no stupid kid(thank god). my highlight was finally seeing them play 97. thanks to derek for making them relearn the old stuff. the extras are great the comentary is hillarious. buy this dvd if you like them from a die hard fan to just a casual listener.

8/29/2003 by Jordan from Apo, AP Rating:
This was a well produced live taping. The camara work is good and the sound quality is better than most live taapings. The problem is with the audience. I have seen the trio on every national tour they have done from '99 to present. They have played the most rockin fuckin shows in fron of 20 or 30 people in little dives like Rubber Gloves in Denton, TX or inside at Emo's in Austin. These kids just didnt seem to appreciate who they were seeing. The audience looked like a bunch of high school jocks, and there didnt seem like there was much energy. They also played only a couple songs off of Goddamnit (nose over tail & cringe) and only one older song (97) which blows everything else theyve done to shit..... at least they didnt play anything from Good Mourning. All in all a good DVD and its worth it if your into newer trio stuff.

8/27/2003 by Dustin from Auburn, AL Rating:
This is a really great DVD. If you're a fan of the Trio, definitely get it. Only a few minor let downs. The editing is one. They edited out the talking b/t songs. Some people might have liked that, but I think the comments b/t songs from the band is what makes shows fun, b/c you never know what's gonna happen. I can't get the multi-angle feature to work like I thought it was supposed to, and I'd have liked for some footage of backstage and stuff. But other than that, its a great DVD. Great set list (except for the lack of Clavicle and San Francisco), and really nice sound quality. I'd defintiely recommend getting it.

8/24/2003 by David from Virginia Beach, VA Rating:
Great stuff here. Play all the classics. Unlike their current tour where they play mostly stuff off of "Good Mourning". I really like Alk3 and I believe that any fan of theirs would be missing out not to order this DVD. The quality is excellent.

Buy it!

8/22/2003 by Tremayne from North Braddock, PA Rating:
This DVD is a must for any Alk3 fan. They play so many great songs (even though all of their songs are great)such as Trouble Breathing, Crawl, Goodbye Forever, Radio, and Madam Me just to name a few. And the sound quality of the DVD is awesome, I was skeptical of how good this would sound but Joe Escalante did a great job at recording and capturing the essence that is Alkaline Trio.

8/20/2003 by David from St Albert, AB Canada Rating:
it's no Frampton Comes Alive! but it's an Alkaline Trio show.. of course it's good! nice mix of songs and both dan and matt's voices sound great throughout the show.

8/17/2003 by Jon from Hampton, NH Rating:
after i saw alkaline at the palladium i had to buy this, it really is an awesome video.from all the kick ass songs to the funny commentary in the backround, its an all around rockin good time. oh to mike from texas, if you play it in PS2 you press L3 and the commentary turns on. that might be helpful for some other poeple too. anyway, buy this, cause it really is wicked good. later---alk3's the greatest -jon

8/17/2003 by Mike from Houston, TX Rating:
The songs sound great, and this is a must have for an Alkaline Trio fan. It reminded me of when I saw them live back in June and actually met them ( super nice guys). Anyway, the camera work is kinda crappy ( but who cares?). The lack of special features and the fact that the "band commentary" section is nowhere to be found is a big dissapointment. Stand out songs: "Hell Yes", "Goodbye Forever", "Armageddon", "Cringe" and "97". I even paid an extra $4 to get this right away. If your a hardcore fan, GET THIS NOW!
