Since the release of their first full length "Unraveling" nearly two years ago, Rise Against have wasted no time in getting their music out to the masses! Touring with the likes of Boy Sets Fire, Thursday, NOFX, Agnostic Front, TSOL, Casualties, Sick Of It All, Snapcase, and AFI, has enabled this Chicago four piece to truly hone their skills. After spending a few weeks laying the tracks down at the Blasting Room with Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore, the four piece re-emerged with an album that will surely perk your ears. The band's ability to marry hardcore intensity with melody is what sets them far ahead of the punk rock pack!

I had never heard of Rise Against until the Warped Tour in '04 and I was waiting for Pulley to start and this band starts rocking and screaming on the stage next to me and everyone just focused and stared. There aren't many bands that I have heard that can sound as aggressive as Rise Against and still be really listenable. I like my punk fast and angry but also rhythmic and singable and Rise Against does that was well as anyone. Like Pennywise with more anger. There are only a few songs on this album I will skip. Hopefully this band can stay angry and avoid becoming "scream-o". Don't trust Interpunk's clip of "Like The Angel" as a representation of this album. Listen to "State of the Union" and "Give it All" from the "Siren Song..." album, or download "Broken English" and you'll get a better feel for it. In my opinion, this band has very quickly earned a place with Pulley, Bad Religion, and Pennywise at the top of pure punk rock.

Their first record, The Unraveling, was great. In my experience, a creation like thaqt doesn't strike twice by the same band, let alone get any better. But surprisingly Rise Against did it! Revolution's Per Minute takes Rise Against's standard ingredients of fast melodic pop punk and adds a little more political message and drive. There are few albums like this ever created. It didn't take me long to learn every fist pounding lyric to this album and it still remains one of my favorites to this day. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this album. In fact, pick up two because you will wear the first one out in no time!

Let me first start of by saying that this album probably is the greatest album ever released on the punk-rock scene... If you think the Unraveling and Siren song of the counter culture albums are great, just check out this one!!! The Chicago based hardcore-punk band, is in an league of its own when it comes to songwriting, and the lyrics speaks right to your heart!! The first thing you notice about Rise Against, is Tim`s (former Baxter, the honor system and killing tree) screaming voice. It hits you with an intensity that will blow you away. On bass and backup-vocal there is Joe, from legendary 88 fingers louie, and everyone that has heard them, know he can handle his bass-guitar.. It`s a shame that Dan Precision left, but i think the current line-up whith Tim, Joe, Brandon and Todd fits eatcother perfectly.. My favourite songs on this album is Voices of camera, Blood-red,white and blue, Broken english and Black mask and gasoline.. the best hardcore album ever, buy it!!!

Rise Against is the greatest band in the world, in my opinion, of course. Revolutions Per Minute is perhaps the most powerful album I have ever heard. From beginning to end it displays an unmatchable power, and I've been unable to find a better album so far.

8/13/2004 by Grant from Lubbock, TX Rating:
Hmmm, pretty generic pop punk album. No new concepts, musical stylings, thoughts, or sounds. Do yourself a favor and buy some other album with more originality and talent.

6/9/2004 by Michael from Selinsgrove, PA Rating:
Dosen't live up to all the hype. It is a pretty solid album but it's not the album many would have you believe it is. Buy it now before their major label debut comes out, then you can call them sell outs and act like you never liked them.

6/1/2004 by Lauren from Paradise, CA Rating:
