This is a pretty decent EP. I was expecting a little bit more, but all in all, I am fairly satisfied with the cd, and i will keep my eyes drooped open for the full length. Detroit What

This cd as everyone knows is less than 13 minutes long. I havent taken it out of my cd player in a week, its that fucking good. I really like the way Brendon doubled his vocals on the recording. There is not a bad song out of the 5 on the disc. The only issue that I would say people might have, (and not me by the way) is that its poorly recorded. i.e. you can hear the metranome in the beginning and ending of most songs. I most likely spelled metranome wrong, but for those who dont know what that is, its what people use to keep timing for recording music. But I will say it adds some character to the cd and makes it more of a "punk" sounding cd, which is what I believe the Falcon were going for. After all the cd was recorded for FREE. I cant say enough great things about this cd. The MP3's on here really do it justice. What you hear is what it sounds like. Ill go with track #4 as my favorite track.

| The first and last songs are two of the best songs I've heard in a long time. Seriously, both of them are amazing. The songs inbetween were a bit different and took some getting used to, but they're still good songs after you've listened to the EP a few times. It gets better every listen really.
Brendan's voice is very, very abrasive at parts on this ep. It works perfectly on some songs, while on others (like track three) it gets so abrasive that it's almost hard to listen to without being prepared. But then you get used to it and hey, this rules. It's kinda like the first time I heard jawbreaker's "bivouac"--a real gem, you just need to listen to it a lot to get it. |

As an Alkaline Trio and Lawrence Arms fan as well as being a casual Rise Against listener, it's hard to say what i expected from this. A mash up of all three would be asking too much. Instead, this is really just like the Lawrence Arms. The songs are big and bold, with Brendan's vocals sounding more edgy than on any Larry Arms record, probably because of where the record was recorded. All in all, a great record but its similarity to Lawrence Arms just loses it one mark. Why not let Dan write a couple for the full length?

Alright, great fuckin cd! 5 stars hands down. Brendan in my eyes is the Ben Weasel of the new chicago scene! There's nothing he can do wrong...Every band he has ever been in has been fuckin incredible...This cd for some reason does remind me more along the lines of slapstick(minus the horns) then either The Lawrence Arms or Broadways.Get this cd if your a fan of the chicago scene!!!

Alright, when I first heard about this I almost went bathroom on myself, seeing as Brendan and Dan are numbers one and two on my list of "I'm Not Gay But I'd Sleep With These Guys If Given the Chance" list, but I'm going to review this EP without any bias. It really leaves you wanting more, and is a tiny bit lacking on the production quality, and makes you wonder why Dan didn't sing at all, but still ultimately rocks your rear off. Brendan's vocals are more reminicent of older Lawrence Arms, though I wish he would sing a little more clearly, i.e. his sound on Broken Star, but I love it just the same. I really can't wait for the full length, and to see how they sound in a real studio with more time and money to record. But for a short, raw, EP, this still gets 4 out of 5. Maybe we can all clamour for a band featuring Matt Skiba and Chris from the Larry Arms? Mmmm.....

The epitome of the Chicago scene is in this cd. Fucking perfect. Nothing was left out. Excellent songwriting and powerful songs that you can see in all of the bands that each member has come from. Reminds me of Slapstick a whole lot.

This Cd kicks ass. It basically sounds like a rough mix between Alkaline Trio and The Lawrence Arms.....Most likely because thats whos in the band. Make sure to check those two bands out before the falcon, but if your a fan of Alk 3 or The Lawrence Arms, make sure to pick this one up!!!!

okay, firstly...i am a lawrence arms fanatic. they could probably sell shit sandwiches in limited edition/numbered foil wrapping and i'd drop some bones for it. that being said... this is not a shit sandwich. this is actually quite a nice 5-song surprise. listening to it for the first time i thought, "lawrence arms-lite". a few listens later i was pretty heartily impressed. a reviewer below stated that this has kind of a "ghost stories" feel to it and i think that's pretty dead on. for lawrence arms fan it's pretty much a must have. i swear, brendan's voice gets raspier and raspier with each new release. pretty soon he's going to start sounding like blake on "unfun". only negative: too bad but there's no vocalisms from dan from alkaline trio too be found anywhere. you know it's him playing the bass and all but atleast one "fuck yeah!" would've been nice. okay, scifi is having their new years day twilight zone marathon. laters.
