Nausea - Punk Terrorist Anthology Vol. 1
Nausea

Punk Terrorist Anthology Vol. 1

(Members Of Morning Glory)

NAUSEA is one of the most influential New York City punk bands ever. Among the first bands to combine raw punk, metal and intense socio-political lyrics, creating a style often imitated but rarely equaled. Dual female/male vocalists trade off over a ferocious musical backdrop that found its way into the sound of bands like NEUROSIS, LOGICAL NONSENSE and ANTISCHISM, to bands of today like KYLESA, SKARP and LEFTOVER CRACK. The Punk Terrorist Anthology Vol. I collects a ton of crucial NAUSEA tracks, including most of their only full studio album Extinction and several out-of-print 7-INCHES and compilation tracks, which are as relevant today as when they were recorded nearly two decades ago. This is one of several Blacknoise Records releases to be released in cooperation with Alternative Tentacles.

I really like the combination of male and female vocals on this CD. At first I expected this to be faster music, but a few of the tracks have more of a slow and heavy feel. Still, it's a decent CD that's worth listening to if you like bands that mix punk and hardcore.

7/31/2003 by Matthew from Port Washington, WI Rating:
Nausea is a very influential crusty punk/metal group that combines fast and heavy guitars, excellent drumming, very good bass sound and harsh male and female (by Roger Miret's wife)vocals. Sepultura and other modern metal and hardcore bands have cited Nausea as an influence. Although this CD pretty much replicates the songs that are on the expanded version of "Extinction", its still an excellent and through collection of Nausea material.

amazing band. amazing cd. got this with only hearing one song and really glad i did. first listen wasnt too into it, they mix punk with metal and it sounded a bit different. but after a while i began to love it. good stuff.

4/3/2002 by Aaron from Pataskala, OH Rating:
really great put together cd of their 7"s and stuff with a cybergod video. A way to describe NAUSEA is dualing crust vocals (male/female) with apoclyptic crust music and alot of the normal crusty stuff i just gotta say this is for crusty P.C. types and if you like antischism or discharge then i think this should have already been in your collection.

11/7/2001 by Andrea from W St Paul, MN Rating:
One awsome album. If there is one release you should buy today it is deffinetly Nausea's Punk Terrorist Anthology Vol.1; it kicks ass. I love the male AND female vocals good and angry yet melodic too.
