Elliott always seemed like they could have been America's version of Radiohead, but of course they broke up so we'll never really know what would have become of them, and in some ways breaking up probably made them gods to underground rock fans. It seems like most of my favorite bands put out a couple releases and then call it quits. Texas Is The Reason, Turning Point, Rites Of Spring, and Saetia are prime examples of this. Although I think Elliott had around 5 or 6 releases so they had a little longevity. Anyways as for False Cathedrals, this is definately the best of the 3 Elliott CD's I own, and it's one of the finer works in the history of post hardcore/emo/indie whatever you wanna call it. The album is much more melodic than their debut U.S. Songs, but it still has a lot of all out rock songs. I also want to add that the vocals are incredible and the drummer is unbelievable on some of the tracks.

This has to be my favorite elliott record. Come to think of it, it is probably in my top ten. I love the intro, I love every song on it. Definitely one of those albums that you want to listen to straight through. Can't wait for Photorecording!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a shame they broke up.

This is the best Elliott CD, still not as good as the Falling Forward days but 100 times better than any of their other Elliott releases. If you're new to Elliott buy this CD! Forget the rest.

this is elliott exploring a bit more of an ambient sound, departing from their former releases like "u.s songs" and "if they do...", and heading towards "song in the air." an amazing album. i don't know that i can think of any better opening song for any album ever than "calm americans."

This is an amazing CD. It begins and ends with the same intensity...emo, mind ya. Songs 8-12 are absolutely great, even though they took a few listens to really get into. Elliott is a great band...everyone should own this CD.

I had never heard Elliott 3 years ago (i lost the album and then bought it again from this site)before buying this album and I was very impressed. This album is beautiful. Think Radiohead meets...I don't know...Pedro the Lion? This is slower but still rocking, melodic but not poppy. This album is a must for anyone who is looking for music outside of the standard pop-punk category. If you like Further Seems Forever, Dashboard, and/or Radiohead, you could fall in love with this album.

This is one of my favorite CDs in my collection. I usually don't really like bands like Elliott, but I decided to get this CD because a friend said it was good. It's definitely worth the money.
