Braid is one of those bands that get better with age. In the beginning of the cd, some of the songs were a bit, well, not like the braid i've come to love. Like a good wine, the end of the cd is absolutly compelling, and every song on there has a meaning, which is always a plus.

Beautiful, just beautiful. I can definitely listen to this from beginning to end and not skip one song. It's unfortunate that I got into this band around the time they called it quits, but at least with releases like this, I can enjoy a little slice of indie rock heaven every time I put this on. Hey Mercedes, as good as they are, cannot hold a light to the music of Braid. It's like they tamed their songwriting down so people would like them or something. Good, but not like this.

although the first 4 tracks are a bit weird to a new listener, the rest of the cd is a great collection of braid material. it is a good place to start for those who haven't heard of the indie rock gods of braid. if you are turned off by slightly expiremental, buy the hey mercedes record.

braid....one of the greatest indie bands ever. too bad they parted ways over 2 years ago. this is the release of all of theyre 7" and split 7". it is the only place u can find any of these songs on cd. the songs that first hooked me on this band were radish white icicle from theyre "im afraid of everything" 7" and theyre cover of "somethings always there to remind me" which is on movie music vol. 2
