i dare not draw comparisons to the numerous pop-punk bands that currently flood the market, because armchair martian is miles away from that and that scene. the only explanation for why listeners make such comparisons, is probably because 'armchair martian' is so damn accessible. well, the sound i mean. john snodgrass has successfully taken the energy, rock, and vigor of punk and combined it with the 'tear in beer' swagger of a country ballad.

great 7" I don't consider Armchair Martian punk at all though. there is a lot of stuff on this site that isn't punk. Oh well, they are still good. It has 3 songs. The first one is "Barely Passing" I am not sure whether the 2nd or the 3rd one is "I'm not ready" but whichever one it is, then the other song is not listed. this on clear green vinyl. its worth the money if you like pussy rock.

Like the other reviewer, I think this record's sound is a little fuzzy too. But not fuzzy enough for me to totally hate this seven incher. This comes with a mail catalog, an unglued together inlay, and clear green vinyl! And yes there is a secret song, but unlike others would think, this one is after the 1st song ( barely passing, also from their s/t) and also like most hidden tracks, this one doesn't have laughing and talking but is an actual full length song! kick ass! your A.M. collection wouldn't be complete without this, but if you were looking to just spend your 5 bucks, i would suggest getting "xenophobe" first. And then all their other ones, including "hang on ted" which for some reason is not listed on this site. there's my worthless opinion.

Perhaps it's just my turntable but the sound is kinda fuzzy. Other than that this is an awesome E.P. This is one of their first, back in 1995. Great songs (there's a hidden one even)
