Second proper long player from Boston's low-end masters. With EPs on Second Nature, Neurot and a full length on Escape Artist, they have carved a niche somewhere between metal, hardcore and atmospheric soundscapes. This new album delves further into the melodic and harmonic possibilities of their immense talents, layers of textures make it their most accomplished work to date. Double vinyl version of the latest offering from Boston's Isis.

| well, i gave this sometime before i was going to review it, because i thought it might grow on me, and i would appericate it for the masterpiece that so many people claim it to be....and yet i still have the same opinon as my intial reaction....boring...very boring. hey, im all about atmospheric, spaced out records...but this is not like that at all....its simple guitar riffs, that arent very good, repeated over and over into a sludgy unmoving climax...this is the only thing i have by this band, and i dont plan on getting anything else.if your looking for what the record is trying to do, get Cave In's "Until Your Heart Stops"... |

| Excellent. Brilliant. Astonishing. Outstanding. Mind Blowing. OK, that's enough. But really, this album is great. Wonderfully scripted songs with excellent guitar riffs. The songs are mostly music (not all instrumental, just mostly musical). The singer has a great scream. Most of the songs are long about 8 to 10 min. This is one of the best CD's ever. BUY IT NOW. |
