Troubleman Unlimited 93

Troubleman is pleased to announce the highly anticipated debut release from ORTHRELM. The duo consists of resident genius Mick Barr on guitar/vocals (of CROM-TECH) and Josh Blair on drums. Musically, this release is more intricate than CROM-TECH (if that was possible) and takes a more "metal" approach, though slightly. If you are not familiar with ORTHRELM or CROM-TECH, they are a guitar and drum duo based out of Washington, DC/Brooklyn, NY that play intense, very fast, abstract, free-jazz inspired, sometimes incomprehensible, prog-hardcore (thanks to Gravity for the description). Witnesses have left the club in awe, jaws hanging from what seemed like impossible guitar playing. Mick has been called "the best guitarist EVER" by many a person. People have been asking about ORTHRELM for almost a year and Troubleman is pleased with their debut and know you will be as well. This release is a 99-song one-sided etched 12" and 99-song CD (sorry, no etching on CD). Yes, 99 songs on one-side. The vinyl is much cooler. The etching was done by Mick himself. He drove up from DC and went to the mastering lab and etched it on a virgin lacquer on the spot. A truly original record by one of the most original bands on the planet. Go tell your friends!

8/5/2002 by James from Rancho Cucamonga, CA Rating:
If you are looking for something original, get this. 99 tracks of pure insanity. Each track is, on average, 5 seconds long. The tracks are comprised of fast-paced, sonic guitar riffs and insane drum beats. This is an entirely instrumental album, and the only reason it gets 4 stars is because of this. The musicianship on this album is excellent, though. Buy This.

6/9/2002 by Ryan from Albuquerque, NM Rating:
amazing... intervals of craziness filled with insanity on the guitar... if I could play like that, I'd make the songs longer than 5 seconds, but these guys pull it off nicely...
