| You know the score - you buy a hardcore album with a band with a cool name and a few namechecks from your favourite bands. First track kicks off......pretty fast...cool but very generic, you can see where the song structure and melody will go straight away. You flick through to track 7 -they all sound and start the same. By track #18 you figure it's not BAD, it just never posesses anything to latch onto. This is a cd to bump up your hardcore collection, which bands like Time Flies suffer from. There are a lot of bands doing this style to a higher standard such as Good Clean Fun, H2O, Kill Your Idols, Better than a Thousand and Ignite. It's also true that although hearing a lot of hardcore bands, when I've checked out the classic bands, you can see where everyone got/stole their riffs from. Check out 7 Seconds 'The Crew' which is my favourite album behind H2O 'Thicker than Water'. |
