Jettison - Wish You Were Her
Six songs of intense power-pop-punk-rock from this New Jersey quartet. Fans of LWL will love this record. Think of the soundtrack from a Kevin Smith/John Hughes movie and you've got a good idea of the direction that this four-piece out of New Jersey is headed.

They may be broken up, but if you're a fan of pre-mainstream pop punk (ie. Bigwig, MxPx, Lanemeyer) and haven't picked this up yet than you don't deserve a set of ears. I won't bother comparing them to LWL because that was before my time, but I will say that I'm uber-pissed that I got into these guys literally 2 months before the break up. Monkey is now in a Bouncing Souls/Lifetime-ish band called Clark Street and I expect them to catch on soon. Steve was in Avery, but not anymore, but their CD is still really good and worth checking out. If you like this, I also strongly recommend 5-Cent Deposit's "We Have Your Daughter"

Similar to LWL. Jettison’s sound is kind of unique. Although considered pop-punk by most, the singers voice brings a different tone to pop-punk. With raspy, almost grungy vocals, the band has a really original sound of their own. It’s a pretty good CD to start up the band. If they stay together, I expect some really great things from them in the future. Buy this CD.

For those of you who miss LWL ...this is the next best thing ...though not AS good as LWL was ...these guys are just starting so give them time and I'm sure they will be. Same Singer and style of music ..so enjoy. The best track is Chasing Amy so give that one a whirl ...enjoy!

| If you're still mourning the passing of L.W.L., rejoice! Steve, lead vocals for L.W.L., is back with a new band! While this album isn't the greatest I've heard out of the pop-punk genre, it's still pretty decent for a five track cd. Think of L.W.L. with fairly similar lyrics and harder instrumentals, just a little less catchy. Anyone who was a fan of L.W.L. should definitely pick this one up.
