McRackins - It Ain't Over Easy
After 16 years and a million releases, the McRackins are a brand name you
can trust. While most new albums promise "soon" to be classics, the bastard
sons of Kiss and the Ramones offer you 14 "already" classic tunes filled
with pure certified bubblepunk bliss that will make even the worst cynic
crack a smile. Their epic display of Forrest Gump like pop-punk
sensibilities complemented by nonstop power-pop energy and a winning way
with a melody will pull the most hardcore emo out of a depressing funk. The
most praised and popular band on the Pop Punk Message Bored does not
disappoint with their 14th studio album. Hard boiled to the core, 3 chords
and never more! Semi-Retarded? Definitely. Serious? Duh. By striving so
mightily for complete disposability, the group instead makes itself
irresistibly indispensable. “It Ain’t Over Easy" will assault your senses even on the oldest retro walkman.

First off, if you have not seen the video for "Candy" go see it now... the funniest punk rock video ever! Okay, now to the actual album. This is the third McRackins album (since they came out of retirement)... I think?, the first two I thought were way over produced and sounded generic; however, this album... "It Ain't Over Easy" reminds me more of the McRackins sound I loved in the late 90's. The McRackins come from a time when pop-punk was not an ugly term and bands were unique and sounded different from each other. Great CD! So if you have never listened to this band before, get this CD and seek out their release on Shredder (90's release) plus Bill's solo album too.

the first song on here totally starts off sounding like a groovie ghoulies song. like the girl of the year 3000 song a lot and a few others on here. I would love to see them live. A little expensive.

Awesome record! This is their best record in a long time. 'Candy', 'Fairy Tale', 'In The Year 3000’, ‘Only In The Movies’ are all standout tracks. McRackins are one of the greatest pop punk bands out there!

Great record. One of the best albums they have put out. Been a fan since their 1st record on Shredder, but this one is quickly becoming my favorite. The McRackins are a great underrated Pop Punk band that more people should really know about.
