Story Of The Year explodes with an original sound that pushes the stakes for pure punk energy and hard-edged live performances. Their Maverick Records debut, Page Avenue, features a clutch of potent new tracks written especially for the occasion, including such front and center showstoppers as “Until The Day I Die,” “And The Hero Will Drown” and “Anthem Of Our Dying Day.”

Produced by John Feldman (The Used), Story Of The Year filters an all-out aural assault through a grid of razor-sharp lyrics, instantly accessible melodies and furiously focused arrangements. It is, simply put, one of the most impressive arrivals of the current musical season…and proof positive that hard work, dedication and dogged persistence are essential ingredients to great music.

This cd sucked. The only reason i gave it a 2 is because there was nice guitar work. Other than that it was really lame. But if your a poser kid im sure you'll love it! If not don't waste your time. Destiny, Jamestown North Dakota

4/19/2004 by Dan from University Park, PA Rating:
yeah, sure, whatever. nothing original, but the songs do get stuck in your head. i gotta show some love to the st. louis music scene that they came out of, which spawned great bands such as slapdash, the urge, and fragile porcelin mice.

4/17/2004 by Carey from Carnoustie, United Kingdom Rating:
this album took a few listens to grow on me and im still not a hundred percent sure wat i think. the first 3 songs were so gr8 that the rest of the album is a slight disappointment but overall not a bad record.

4/14/2004 by Katie from San Jacinto, CA Rating:
This cd was really rad... A few of the songs were a little too mellow for my taste, but overall it's worth it. They were still great songs, don't get me wrong. Just gotta be in the mood for them. Check out The Bled. They don't sound like SOTY, but they play a good show and really deserve a huge fanbase.

After Reading an Article About Story Of The Year In a Issue of AP Magazine and listening to them on a 03' Warped Tour Compilation, I decided to get this album and see what they are all about, turns out they are pretty bad ass, yeah they some of the songs on this CD kinda suck, But they go hard on "And The Hero Will Drown" and kick ass on "In The Shadows" But They Know How to Rock Hard and They are not bad at all.

3/28/2004 by Clint from Perth, Australia Rating:
Very tidy CD almost to tidy...Kinda sing-a-long but the few screams and changes make it all worth it, catchy and aggressive SOTY is one for beer sinking. On stage they would be a five.

3/20/2004 by Shawna from New Oxford, PA Rating:
This CD is awesome!!! It has some really cool songs on it and I loved it. I'm really glad I bought this CD and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

2/18/2004 by Phil from Coventry, United Kingdom Rating:
Can't help but agree with the previous reviews. First listen you kinda enjoy it but you can't help feeling it's way too squeeky clean in production. Similar feel to the Used record. Haven't listened to either in ages.

11/4/2003 by Mike from Oakbrook, IL Rating:
I should have waited for more people to review this CD before I went out and got it. I wish Interpunk did returns because this CD sucks. I mean the music is alright....it's pretty heavy and all but it is way over produced. You can tell the band just wants to be huge and they want to be huge right now. They don't want to be original. Don't waste your time.

11/4/2003 by Andrew from Dillsburg, PA Rating:
The first time I listened to this cd, something didn't feel right. SOTY's sound is just all to familiar. You know, take an average screamo band, then overproduce the hell out of their sound(ie. John Feldman). It sounds like all of these songs where carefully mixed to go straight to the radio. Please, somebody needs to put a stop to this kind of music before it is too late. Later.
