While Agression will always be associated with the so-called "Nardcore" thing, They were first and foremost, a great hardcore punk band that wore their California roots on their collective sleeve. They surfed and they skated and it's reflected in tracks like "Intense Energy" and "Locals Only". Agression tackle the usual standard punk subjects (war, big business, etc..) but they also delved into unusual subject matter such as the supernatural (Don't Be Mistaken) and sexual promiscuity (Secret Sex). Musically, Agression have that So-Cal sound: Fast tempo, Clean guitar, and clear vocals. From song writing quality to production, this is easily the best entry in the Agression discography. The CD features two bonus cuts ("Dear John Letter" and "Rat Race") taken from the 1982 Somebody Got Their Head Kicked In compilation album that weren't included on the original vinyl pressing. Agression would go on to make several other releases, but this is definitely the best. Just don't tell Doug Moody I said so.

once again: NARDCORE!!! Agression, along with Ill Repute are for sure my favorite nardcore bands. It just sucks that 2 original members of Agression died - so no one of todays punk generation got to see them live. But I saw Ill Repute play, and they played a cover of "Intense Energy", so that was awesome. If you like The Adolescents - I would recommened this. And I would say buy "Full Circle", (from Agression of course) - but I don't know if it's any good or not, so...Anyways, if you like this, check out: Ill Repute, Stalag 13, Dr. Know, RKL - or other Nardcore - or skate punk bands. Oh - this is Amanda not Donna.

Also check out Free Beer, Faction and Adolescents if you like this shit. |

This is a great cd. All of the songs have a ton of energy and makes great skate/surf music. Kind of sounds like the Adolescents and has great quick guitar solos. Dear John Letter is the best song followed by Locals Only. Buy it!!!

This CD certainly has it all. If you're deciding between this and the Best of.....CD, BUY BOTH!!!! Some of the tracks are the same but they are all different recordings and some of the best of.. are live. It just gets better with every listening and definitely makes Oxnard stand out on the globe.
