If you aren't familiar with Hot Water Music, then you're a lost soul. No need to explain what they sound like, except they rule and have influenced hundreds of bands that are out there today.

This album rocks. Hot Water Music have recently become one of my favorite bands, and if you've ever listened to them, it isn't hard to see why. Ragan and Wollard's vocals are great on this, and Black's basslines are awesome. Every song is great, but I think "Freightliner" is easily the best. I would recommend this to anyone who likes melodic punk rock. This album is almost worth buying only for the artwork.

Like any HWM cd it is very good. But if it's your first album, I would rather recommend never ender to really get into Hot Water Music.

This was the first HWM cd I ever heard. A friend played it for me shortly after it came out back in '99. After hearing this I was completely obsessed with Hot Water, buying all their stuff as it came out. My first impression of these guys was that they had a very powerful and unique sound. They kinda reminded me of Fugazi a little, but they were somehow more melodic and fierce. "Fuel" is probably their most aggressive sounding album. Simple yet unique guitar playing. The most amazing bass playing I've ever heard - rivaling Matt Freeman of Rancid as the best bass player in punk rock. And the vocals, this is the starting point for that great "call and response" dual vocal sound. This is a great starting point CD to become familiar with HWM. Along with "Forever and Counting" and "No Division", this is one of the Best from Hot Water Music.

I would go as far as to say this is HWM's best record besides "No Division". The emotion and heart that comes through these songs makes you wanna grab whosever next to you and scream the lyrics at the top of your lungs. If you don't have this record buy it or die.

The best Hot Water release in my opinion. This and smallbrownbike's Our Own Wars are must haves. Every song is good and of the countless times I've heard each record I can never sick of them.

After hearing "Remedy" on the second Atticus comp, I knew there was something special about Hot Water Music, but at the same time I knew that Epitaph has a tendency to make everyone sound pretty. I searched among their songs online, but none of it seemed to stand out. Then I downloaded "Freightliner" and I knew I had to get this album. Regan, Wollard and company put a lot of faith in chaos, but like Fugazi they manage to come out ahead every time. The vocals are marginally intelligible, production is lackluster, guitar chords sometimes sink into the doldrums...still the band plays on, determined to keep it interesting. And they do. "Rock Singer" should be evidence enough of their commitment.

Hot Water Music is a great band, every thing they put out just plain rocks. Its addictive, just like Lays...you can't listen to it just once.
