How can you go wrong with songs like "Neat Neat Neat" or "New Rose" ? The Damned were (and I guess still are) a great punk rock band. I agree with John Holmstrom's comment he made on the PUNK ATTITUDE MOVIE that The Damned sounded like an American punk rock band in the vein of the Ramones some what. However, The Damned did go on to raise the bar with their musical talents. This was their first full length and it's good. This is a great starting place for a fan of this band!

This is apparently the second british punk album ever; from a band whos career has been all over the place since. While it isnt as good as their follow up machine gun etiquette, it does outshine many other british punk and/or oi bands of that era becuase the accent is barely noticeable. A few songs are a bit expiremental but for the most part it's straight forward 2 minute punk songs. I especially like the ever so awesome neat neat neat, born to kill and fan club. i would suggest buying machine gun etiquette first but since that's nearly impossible to find, just get this and enjoy it's beauty. It even comes with fold out poster delving into the history of the band of the band up to this release. What im saying is buy it.

tread sofly.

THE DAMNED. Need I say any fucking more? Guess I gotta. Got some great songs on here, like Neat Neat Neat, Born To Kill, New Rose, and Feel The Pain. So get this and feel good about yourself(or "Feel The Pain"...ha not a funny joke). Hell, any band that's covered in cream has to be worth looking in to.

Ah Damned, Damned, Damned...the first punk record ever released in the UK (yes asshole, even before the Sex Pistols). A great record indeed and a lot less political than the other early UK punk bands. Bottom line is, the music is real fun and catchy and you shouldnt have a problem enjoying it easily. Stand out songs include "Neat Neat Neat", "Fan Club", and "Stab Your Back". Enjoy!
