This is the track list for this Australian punk band. I'll be honest, i picked this up because i was looking for pre-TSOL Jack Grisham (apparently his OC Vicious Circle wasn't the only band with that title). I was pleasantly suprised, after the initial annoyance of being an idiot and not looking into the record wore off, when i realized that it was actually very good. The vocalist (Paul, the lyric sheet calls him) has a very Greaser style of voice, which is difficult to describe, but is not at all unpleasant (i suppose you'd have to imagine a deeper voiced Tim Armstrong with a Hell's Kitchen accent). The guitar work seems at first to be supplementary to the lyrics, and adds little to the experience (7 Seconds, anyone?), but after the first two tracks, you begin to realize the prowess the guitarist has (especially on the title track, 'Reflections'). The bass is just cool sometimes, with an a strange mix of a metal style shred and smooth licks that are obviously rockabilly inspired. Although one or two songs are a bit of the traditional punk setup (angry vocals about police, 3 chord guitar work, and unremarkable bass and drum bits), the rest of this LP comes off as fresh, and really interesting to hear (i've not heard as many australian bands). This was recorded in '86, but I'm not that sure of when the band started, how many recordings they've put out, and if they're still playing today, but I've got to tsay that this is a great album to add to any collection.
