Against Me!

As The Eternal Cowboy

Fat Wreck Chords 667

Released on November 11, 2003

$9.50

$14.50

Fat was lucky enough to grab these guys for their second full length As The Eternal Cowboy, where the band fuses influences of blues, folk, and American Rock together with a unique punk sound all their own. From the demos alone we knew that we had something momentous on our hands. To make sure that the final product would stand up, the boys headed off to Ardent studios in Memphis, TN (ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, etc.). Against Me! As The Eternal Cowboy will bring praise from the legions of fans the band already has, and will certainly move new listeners to join the party!

Great album. You can hear the anger in his voice and he belts out songs that make you want to sing along too.

I was going to get this vinyl several times when I saw AM! live however as of late, they don’t carry it anymore in their merch. Overall I like Eternal Cowboy, it’s probably their second best record. Aside from RAR.

Not as good as "Reinventing Axl Rose" but is still really, really good. I have just recently really gotten into Against Me! and Reinventing was the first album I bought and completely got infatuated with it so I bought this album. If you like Against Me! I would recommend getting this and if you just want to check them out, get "Reinventing Axl Rose", read the lyrics, and freakin love it!

This is a good album. Not as good as Reinvention Axl Rose, but very good. Get this if you like Against Me! Get Axl Rose first if looking to start out with this band.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW SHIT! This is something that is good for the whole family, songs that cause a man to think "this is quite enjoyable." Does this make sense? I think it should, wait, listen... okay let me tell you about this album it is tits. The end.

Wow, this release is horrible. i used to be a huge against me! fan, the first few 7 inches were incredible. but now they've lost all the passion that made them so good before, and the lyrics have gone downhill so much since the crime 7 inch. Against me! has never been the best musicians, but tom lacked in musicianship he made up for with the passion of the things he sang about. that's what made against me so memorable before, and now they're just another fat wreck band. there's not one song even nearly as good as "those anarcho punks are mysterious" on this album, not even half as good. do yourself a favor, save your money and don't buy this, buy the old 7 inches instead, you'll be alot happier that way.

yeah. wow. this is really good. i like 'Reinventing Axl Rose' better, personally. 'Cowboy' has less screaming and sounds a little bit cleaner, but the songs still have that same intensity that make me love Against Me!. some really good acoustic tracks, too. my favorites are "unsubstantiated rumors are good enough for me (to base my life upon)", "slurring the rhythms" and "turn those clapping hands into angry ballad fists". Against Me! also has some of the best song titles ever. buy this.
