| Lawrence Arms - Greatest Story Ever Told |
In a land not so far away, the Midwest to be exact, there is a lonesome burgh known as Chicago. This Midwestern enclave is home to the threesome who call themselves The Lawrence Arms. This band of roving musicians who perform in the theme of punk rock, now bring forth what they call The Greatest Story Ever Told, their second full length album to be released on Fat Wreck Chords. In true form, The Lawrence Arms lead the listener through a schizophrenic, alcohol induced musical adventure. Within this synthesis of high art and lowbrow comedy, the trio make lyrical reference (foot notes and all) to pop culture, the arts, and literature.
Sticking with their time tested, two vocalist approach, Brendan belting out the gruff and abrasive side, while Chris dances around a fire of reserved melancholy, the band delivers yet another impassioned, and melodic punk rock album. These guys are no strangers to the road, having toured nonstop since their inception. They will spread their message in your town, and you will be moved!

| Not the best Lawrence Arms offering but still a good cd. If you are just getting into the Lawrence Arms, I would say get 'Oh, Calcutta' first. |

| I dont know if it is actually the greatest story ever told, but it certainly has some of The Lawrence Arms greatest songs on it. Many songs I had never heard of, and grew to love. It's a strong album the whole way through. They try to sick to the circus theme, but i dont really see it. Good idea, but just didnt really work out. But nevertheless, a great album. Maybe not their top album, but its definitaly up there. I love it. A must have for and Larry Arms fan. |

| Very good album, but not a punk album. I heard oh calcutta first which is now my favourite CD of all time. I don't know how anyone could even compare this CD to oh calcutta because it kicks the living shit out of this cd. But this is still an excellent album. Fans of the newer emoish lighter sounding music (like thursday) would love this album and there is nothing wrong with this genre im just a punkrocker at heart...the only punk song on here is on with the show. The songs definitely have the story tell feel which is makes the liner notes interesting. Many references to literature and other wonderful works of art and writing. A very Chris M. dominated cd. |

| Great CD. Beats Oh Calcutta easily, and I love their more mellow, songs like raw and searing flesh and chapter 13:a hero appears. On with the Show is also an amazing song. |

| This album is pretty much unanimously considered as their best and it deserves it, although all Larry Arms cds are extremely good. How couldn't it be, with what is probably the most gifted lyricist duo in punk rock today, eh ? The lyrics are among the best they wrote, the melodies are really well crafted and pretty tight, and the artwork is fantastic... As Chris once wrote and sang,"is there a gesture i could use to clearly express i'm at an utter loss for words" when i listen to this record : "Greatest Story Ever Told" is simply a pure marvel that you'll just listen over and over again with as much pleasure each time. The Arms followed the mellower path they had taken in "Apathy..." and they've drawn the best out of it. |

| great cd.on with the show and alert the audience are two of the best lawrence arms songs ever written and worth the money alone.if you like them at all you should get this cd hell if u like music at all u should get this album |

| This is a great CD but I like the raspy harder vocals and theres more of that on apathy for exaustion so get that larry arms CD first.The song "on with the show" dose kick some seirious ass though. |

| Each band can make an appearance in the punk scene with a unique style to them, the Lawrence Arms have their voice. While you hear most of their hits that have the hard, raspy, stereotype-of-punk-rock to them, you buy the c.d. for that sound. When you recieve it, you hear what you were looking for BUT it's also mixed in with mellow vocals and a steady tune. Almost like hard rock meeting soft rock. In my opinion, it takes takes talent to make something like that, I love this c.d. and would recommend it to anyone out their. In conclusion, "Greatest C.D. Ever Bought" |

| doesnt sound as fast or loud as the older lawrence arms records but still good though. i really like the references they did on the inlay and the artwork on the whole album was just superb. as always, the singing is amazing. |
