Glasseater

Everything is Beautiful When You Don't look Down

Victory 2012

Released on August 26, 2003

$13.00

When people think of upbeat melody and bone crushing heaviness, they usually think of it in two separate genres of music. This does not apply to Glasseater. No label can be attached to this band. A seamless blend of melodic rock, pop punk, metal and just straight-up hardcore. The Victory debut is ten tracks delivered wonderfully melodic and furiously aggressive.

If I say a band has come a long way, does that neccessarily have to mean they're now really good after used to being really bad? Well, that's not neccessarily the case with Glasseater, but they HAVE come a long way. We all know that their Fearless releases are their best releases; although, this CD does come damn close. After a few listens, you realize the lyrics are actually pretty good, and the growls ARE still scattered in the CD and pretty cool as well. The uptempo songs are very good, although I definitely wouldn't have picked the opener the band did. Whatever floats your boat. Just remember that when it comes to pop-punk with screaming/screeching/growling etc., this band has been doing it for a while.
