These Arms Are Snakes - This Is Meant To Hurt You
Seattle, WA's THESE ARMS ARE SNAKES are poised to spread their venom far and wide. With members who have participated in such Northwestern luminaries as BOTCH, NINEIRONSPITFIRE, and KILL SADIE, THESE ARMS ARE SNAKES' pedigree is only but a touchstone for the band's progressive aggression and passionate chaos.
Defying parameters, THESE ARMS ARE SNAKES match their determined rock with side-winding sonic parallels and layers of subtle confusion. For references think the nouveau punk of PUBLIC IMAGE LTD., all-or-nothing pandemonium of DRIVE LIKE JEHU, prog-rock leanings of CAVE IN, and millennium thrash of BLOOD BROTHERS.

Great e.p. with a very different energy than most bands these days, it's very in your face without having to through on ridiculous distortion and have chugging guitars and bass in front of double bass drums (I'm so sick of that shit.) choatic in a very sustained manner and has a great angst value in it. It also holds songs that all sound like singles.

After listening to "Oxeneers", I can honestly say that this CD is much better. Although it only has 5 tracks, it is a better buy than Snakes' newest CD. Best Track: Blue Roses

Wow these guys are awesome. Everything about them is really fresh and new. The style, lyrics, and music in general is really inspiring and all around amazing. I can't pick a favorite song, they all flow together like one giant song with tons of variables and fluctuations that just carry you away. I can't wait till the full legnth... Has to be one of my favorite bands now.

Pretty good EP. Very cool "off the wall" type style, which I like alot. The main problem is half the songs on here just kinda drag on. They are still good, but for people with short attention spans (like myself) you will get a little bored.

For a debut E.P. - this is fucking sick. It sounds kind of like Cave In crossed with the Blood Blothers. Every song sounds completely different, as they showcase a soft/spacey/hardcore/screamo and experimental side. I think Drinking From The Necks Of The Ones You Love is an freakin' incredible song, with an incredible build up ending which turns into a sweetass breakdown that closes with very Blood Brothers-esque vocals. I think the band goes off on random tangents that upset the structure of the song, but hey at least it's still something different. I am eagerly awaiting a full length.
