i was expectin more ska outta this. my expectations werent met. this is the only cd of theirs i have, some dude told it was their best. i hope he was wrong. he kinda had that air around him that reeked of stupid...so maybe ill give these guys another chance. it by no means blows to no end, it just wasnt what i expected

I bought this album after hearing "Darko" and was slightly disappointed with the outcome.Personally i find the vocals get quite annoying after listening to the album for a while and apart from "Darko" the songs don't really stand out. This album is still quite good though so if you like Slick Shoes or other bands similar to them, then buy it.

Slick Shoes has come quite a long way since their beginning. This album goes to show that they can keep their extreme energy, wonderful guitar riffs, and amazing and blending vocals, even with new guitar players. The voice of Ryan Kepke never ceases to amaze me as well as the experienced drumming of Joe Nixon, both of which have been a part of Slick Shoes since the start. This is their best album in my opinion, even better than Burnout and Wake Up Screaming. Also, they changed labels from Tooth and Nail to Side One Dummy for this album. Nevertheless, if you are into bands such as MxPx, NOFX, Rancid and other melodic punk bands you should definately do yourself a favor by picking up this well thought out album. Oh, and if you get the chance to see them live, I strongly suggest that you do it. I saw them at the Warped Tour last summer (in 2003) and it was probably the best band I've seen live!!! There's no doubt that this album gets five stars!!

Great CD! High points of this album are Darko, Hello Stupid, and Nows the Time. Fast guitar, hard drumming, very up tempo pop punk. Ryan Kepke displays great vocal skills and great lyrics, mostly about growing up but overall go buy it if ur new to Slick Shoes.

I heard these guys off of the "Shut The Punk Up! Volume 3" CD put out by New School Records and I must say, these guys rock! I wasn't really knowing what to think when I heard the song on the comp, but this is intense. Fast, melodic punk with tight guitar riffs and smooth vocals. A must have!! Also check out the "Shut The Punk Up" comp... only $5 and has a bunch of great bands.

8/2/2003 by Adam from Maidenhead, United Kingdom Rating:
Hmmm...In theory this cd should be as good as Rusty and Burn Out, They have gone back to the technical dual guitar sound, brought back the fast drumming and have capped it off with real nice production.

So whats the problem?, Well I think it is basically that they seem to have spent so much time writing the fiddly guitar parts that they have forgotten to write any really good vocal harmonies or sing 'a longs.

Most of the songs seem to just wash over you and not really leave an impression at all, you have to listen to the cd like half a dozen times before you can really rememeber any of the songs.

Its not a particularly bad cd, just not really as good as I'd hoped. Best song is easily "Nows The Time", even though its the slowest.

Average to Good on the whole

7/20/2003 by Dan from Webster, NY Rating:
This cd is a great new start for Slick Shoes. With the addition of a few new members the guitar work is better than their previous few albums. Ryan's vocals have gotten better and i'd have to say it is the second best Slick Shoes album to date just behind burn out. Be sure to pick it up! For fans of rufio, sum 41, new found glory, or sick of change

7/19/2003 by Jonathan from Madison, TN Rating:
Best work from Slick Shoes since "Burn Out." I was blown away. The starting track to this album "Darko" is such a great kick-off! This CD sounds like a mix between "Burn Out" and they're previous self titled record. I HIGHLY recommend this album to anyone for fans of melodic punk rock.

Great Album, the Guitar and Drum work is worth checking out. Some songs are a little to metal for my taste though.
