I got this CD about a month ago and I'm only just getting round to write a review, but this disc has been constantly in my player since then! This is my favourite CD from my 250+ collection at the moment. There's so much variety on this CD, and lots of energy which just makes it a fun CD to listen to. Maybe toned down a bit from their older stuff (with the exception of "Gonna Be A Blackout Tonight") but that's not necessarily a bad thing in this case. Highlights are Fields of Athenry, Dirty Glass, Gonna Be A Blackout Tonight, Worker's Song, As One, Time To Go, Buried Alive...there isn't a bad song on here! If you like anything by the Murphys (or Flogging Molly and the Pogues) you will not be disappointed by this CD!

First of all this is Ronny not Cathy. This CD is really good. I don't like the new singer as much as the old guy but this guy is pretty good. The best song is probably Gonna Be A Blackout Tonight. If you don't know if you should buy this album I would say go get The Singles Collection 96-97 before you get this.

In my opinion, this is the best Dropkick Murphys album. Every song is really great and filled with true punk rock attitude and emotion. I love their classic album "Do or Die", but I think "Blackout" is even better.

DKM are one of the best bands around and grow with every release without losing their appeal. You can feel a bit of every previous release in this one. This is definately worth picking up and wont leave your CD player for awhile. The DKM are one of those rare bands that you can put in their CD and listen to it years down the road and it still is like its new. GET THIS!!
