| Cursive at his best ! The cd is a little bit over 40min., just passing by to tell you that if you like cursive listen to a gentleman Caller or Art is Hard and you will have a little idea of what Cursive music his.
Also check out Burst and Bloom EP ! |

| I hate emo. I hate screamo. I had heard a whole lot about Cursive and decided to take a chance (which is extremly rare) and buy a disc.I actually enjoyed this cd very much. Although I have not purchased any other Cursive cds- I still put this on quite often. |

| Best. Cursive. Album. EVER. It has some harder songs, like "Red handed sleight of hand" and "a gentleman's caller", and then it has soft songs as well, like "Staying Alive" and "The Recluse". It truly is a great buy, so pick it up now! |

| It's Cursive. They are the best, so what better to except than a 5-star album? This is one of the best albums of 2003 for certain. The interlude's between songs are the only down point, but they keep with the theatrical theme of the album. "Som Red Handed Sleight of Hand" is definitely the best song, but "Sierra," Staying Alvie," "Art Is Hard," and "Driftwood" are also really good. If you don't listen to Cursive, first of all you're deprived, but secondly start on this album. You'll get into them real fast. |

| I love the songs on this album. It's just the interludes and the re-hashed material that I don't care for, these things that take away from the energy, and ultimately make me hit the skip button. normally i love interludes, reprises, and all the flourishes, but this is a 45 minute cd, so in that short a time, i would expect more substantial songs. plus, the appeal of this album lies largely in the coarse, raw production, evident on the cover at least, and in this style, the music relies so much on the energy and intensity of the band that these extras that slow the pace aren't a good idea. in general, as great as it is, you can get the gist of this album on the internet, so there's no point in buying it. |

| name is brandon. i got this cd after hearing art is hard and the recluse, both great songs. aside from some red handed slight of hand and sierra, theyre the best songs on there. its an enhanced cd, and the live videos are really great. they play with a lot of emotion and power. overall, not a masterpiece, but still a great cd from a great band. |

| Ladies and Gentelmen, i proudly present one of the greatest cd's I've ever bought. At first the songs seemed to be nothing special, but with closer listen the cello and intricate guitar lines become more apparent. These are all the songs you wish you could write. It makes it that much better to read teh lyrics as you listen because it is set up as a play and has cues for sound effects and enterance in the lyric book thingy. Towards the end the songs sort of roll together but they're still good. Best songs are "Some Read Handed Slight of Hand", "The Recluse", "Driftwood, A Fairy Tale", and "A Gentelmen Caller" "Butcher The Song" as you can see there area a loit of good songs. To try to really explain the genius behind the concept of this record and all the cues in the lyrics and what na is difficult (i've tried many times). The only way to understand it is to buy it, if your gonna check out Cursive then defeinetly buy The Ugly Organ, one of my three favorite records of all time. |

| i was a little dissapointed w/ this...it is the first cursive album i've bought, and i expected more i think...they have a similiar sound to "desaparecidos" another band on saddle creek that you should definitly check out if you haven't heard of them already. anyway, the 2nd and 3rd song on this is great, but then the rest of the album puts you to sleep...it's really slow and boring. when they stick to more upbeat tempo songs, i love it, but most of this just kind of runs all together w/ little distinction between each song. |

| I bought this CD after hearing the first 4 songs which are I think the best on the album (excluding track one which is not really a song). Overall its a great album and sounds more like the "Burst and Bloom" stuff because of the cello, which, by the way, sounds amazing along with the band. If you've never heard Cursive before, I would get this album or the "Burst and Bloom" ep. Most of the songs on this CD are really well written and beautiful. |
