| this is a really sweet dvd, as friends rust play a fast kinda melodic hardcore style, they are pretty good, but their singer just annoys the hell out of me, he stands straight up most the time and looks like a goof, giving the band a very strange stage presence. his singing is also very wierd, its screamy but not in a very good way.
strike anywhere obviously ownt it on this thing, they are one of my favorite bands around today and have an awesome fast, melodic and politically charged sound to them that is all their own. they play some of my favorite songs on here like chorus of one, sunset on 32nd, and my design. they do a good job of rocking out and keeping the energy flowing through the whole time, so its fun to watch. its filmed from several different cameras, so its not the same boring shot the whole way through, and the sound was recorded seperately and dubbed over, so its primo. highly recommended fo strike anywhere, only gets a 4 because as friends rust kinda bum me out. |

| Its a pretty cool DVD, and I definitely recommend it for any big strike fans. I wish it would have had some interviews, but even though it was just live stuff, it was cool. Both bands are sweet, audio quality is pretty good. Its something to sing along with. |

| From the moment I heard Strike Anywhere was going to do a live split with As Friends Rust I was excited. Friends of mine are huge fans of As Friends Rust and Strike Anywhere have been a favourite for a while for myself too.
Just announced prior to this DVD arriving in my mailbox a Strike Anywhere Australian Tour was announced, so I decided to see what I was in store for when I flew to the other side of my country to see them.
From the moment I put on the DVD I was amazed at the quality of the picture, I didnt think the quality would be soo good but it actually is, I thought id start off with As Friends Rust and I was amazed with how awesome they were, and the crowd are awesome, there is one girl who keeps doing stage dives and mic shares, she never stops. Awesome songs featured from AFR include The First Song On A Tape, Encante and Coffee Black to finish the set off with plenty of singalongs and antics from the crowd.
Next up are Strike Anywehre and this set really does go off with a whole heap from A Change Is A Sound coming off nicely. Sunset On A 32nd and Riot Of Words, I wish they did Antidode though, They do My Design really good to finish off thier set and of course plenty of rad tracks inbetween. Its awesome to see two really good bands do a DVD like this, it makes me think how lucky people in the UK and USA are to have real good bands like this tour constantly.
My thoughts on the DVD are that As Friends Rust are real good at what they do and if you are a fan it will be a good DVD to singalong to in the comfort of your chair and for people who are unsure of what to think of these bands or havent heard them , I would get this DVD go halvers with a friend and watch this awesome DVD. Cheers ! |

| wow, "Strike Anywhere" is the best group to emerge from Richmond VA, aside from Pat Benatar. This cd shows how amazing they are, but i am not sure why it isn't them live back in the states, b/c the crowd paticipation is lacking at the start of their set. But anyway "Strike Anywhere is incredible. The lead singer from "As Friends Rust" has the lamest stage presence ever. If you are a fan of "Strike Anywhere" get this dvd, it won't disappoint. |
