The Mahones have reached the top of the Celtic Punk genre alongside friends and tour – mates Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, and The Pogues, evidenced by winning Best Punk Album in 2011 for their last album The Black Irish at the Independent Music Awards – from judges Keith Richards, Tori Amos, and Tom Waits – and being featured in blockbuster movie The Fighter, Irive “Trainspotting” Welsh’s Ecstacy, and headlining punk festivals across Europe.
The band’s Celtic brand of infectious, raucous punk music combines the raw energy of iconic band like The Clash, The Pogues, The Dubliners, The Replacements and the Waterboys and throws in a dash of Social Distortion for good measure.
The Mahones highly anticipated new album Angels & Devils featuring special guests Jake Burns (Stiff Little Fingers), Greg Keelor (Blue Rodeo), Key Casey (Dropkick Murphys), Felicity Hamer, and Rene D La Muerte and Coline Irvine (The Brains), Jonathan Moorman and Dave Gossage (Solstice).
