| Turbonegro - Sexual Harassment |
Originally formed in Oslo, Norway in 1989, Turbonegro
returns in 2012 with their 9
th
album “Sexual Harassment”.
Not only one of Scandinavia’s leading mainstream rock
bands, but Turbonegro is recognized as international punk
rock legend. Based on a musical blend of hardcore punk,
metal and classic rock, Turbonegro is approachable on
many levels - as a masterclass in nonconformist punk-rock
attitude; a veritable orgy of twisted humour; an exploration
of dark, self-destructive philosophy; as formularized
performance à la AC/DC/Ramones/Slayer; as ritualized
sexual deviancy; and, of course, as ass-shakin' rock & roll,
second to none.

| In my view, hands down the best album of 2012. It has been a while since I have put a CD or a record on repeat over and over again. Such is the case with the latest release from Turbonegro "Sexual Harassment". Now if you are not familar with what is going on in the world of Turbonegro these days, it goes something like this: Long time singer Hank Von Helvete left the band to pursue acting and his new goth band Dr. Midnight and The Mercy Cult. Hank commented that he had no problem with the band getting a new singer and they did. Enter Tony "Duke of Nothing" Sylvester formerly of The Dukes of Nothing (also an awesome band). This album to me is a throw back to the "Ass Cobra"/"Apocalypse Dudes" era. This is hands down my favorite Turbonegro album. Tony is very different from Hank as far as vocals go. So if you are one of the purist talking so much trash about the Turbonegro because Hank is not in the band anymore, please listen to this album and give Tony a chance. This is an amazing CD! |
