Rotten Thing To Say was recorded by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou at his infamous Salem, Massachusetts-based Godcity Studio. The album was mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side. The recording and the production of the album shows an extreme improvement from the band's past recordings: vocals are clearer (which amplifies their vicious and venomous delivery), guitars are as raw as ever and blatantly cranked to rip off your face. The songwriting reveals a band at their peak with riffs and melodies as infectious as tuberculosis.

| If Hot Water Music and Planes Mistaken For Stars gave birth to a crust-punk, you'd have Burning Love. I was very hesitant to check this out at first, seeing as how it seems Southern Lord has been signing every crust band with the slightest bit of hype. But how can you not check out something that features members of Cursed? However, BL is much more rock and catchy than crusty. I would definitely give this a listen. |
