Dave Hause’s Heavy Heart is Jade Tree’s offering in a 7? series spanning a variety of independent labels. Each record in the series will feature two alternate versions of Hause originals and two covers of songs from the label’s catalog. The title track “Heavy Heart” and “Rankers & Rotters” are followed by Dave Hause’s renditions of The Promise Ring’s “Skips a Beat (Over You)” and Jets to Brazil’s “Psalm” on the B side.

Dave Hause played his first solo shows in 2009 and has since shared the stage with Bob Mould, AFI, Frank Turner, Tim Barry (Avail), Jim Ward (At The Drive-In, Sparta), Tommy Stinson, Chuck Ragan (Hot Water Music) and Brian Fallon (Gaslight Anthem). This is Dave Hause’s first solo release with Jade Tree, but he is very much a part of the label’s family – first appearing on guitar on Paint It Black’s CVA and later releasing the self titled debut EP by his three piece punk band, The Loved Ones.
