When The Sainte Catherines signed to Fat Wreck Chords in 2006, one of the 1st tours they did as a new member of the Fat Wreck family was with Me First and The Gimme Gimmes, featuring an all-star lineup of punk heroes, including Joey Cape. Hugo Mudie, singer of the Montreal punk band became good friend with Joey Cape, also singer of California punk legends, Lagwagon. A couple years later they collaborated on “Montreal” a song that Joey Cape wrote to pay tribute for his long love affair with the city. Hugo sang on it in french lyrics that he wrote for this. When The Sainte Catherines recorded their final album " Fire Works", they then asked Joey to be featured on the song " Maggie & Dave". He accepted. The next step was to collaborate on a split recording. Here it is. 2 new songs from Joey. Debut recording for Hugo as a solo artist, with one new original song and a cover of Bright Eyes "First Day Of My Life". On vinyl only. Picture and artwork by Montreal hyped photograph/artist Jimmi Francoeur.
