The 12 tracks that comprise the band’s 8th studio album are arguably their most aggressive to date. With influences ranging from hardcore to modern folk punk, The General Strike is reckless yet tight, experimental yet familiar, and as impassioned and enraged as the band feels. The General Strike was recorded and produced by Anti-Flag at their home studio and is poised to be the soundtrack for the masses of begrudged private citizens that are currently protesting corporate injustice and governmental power around the world.

| It seems to me that Anti-flag put a lot of time and effort into writing this album, hence why its been three years since their last release. They have several Hard-core songs that kinda punch ya in the face outta no where, but the rest of the songs kinda fall short in my books. It feels like they tried to write catchy sing along songs but they didn't quite make it. But it's still an alright album but not there best that's for sure. |

| Solid record, opens with a shorter more hardcore song and this album has a couple of those. Then of course alternated with typical Anti-Flag songs like The Neoliberal Anthem or This Is The New Sound. This is a bit more back to the style from For Blood And Empire. All in all I love it. Packaging was pretty nice as well. Not a generic white sleeve.. ;) And the color is amazing. Patch is bit bigger than a 12" record, so fairly big. Insert's backside can be used as a poster, features a picture of the band. Oh well, enjoy. This is a lot better than Bright Lights or The People Or The Gun. |
