The Queers are back with a brand new studio album titled "Back To The Basement". Recorded in Atlanta, GA., this release offers up thirteen tracks of blistering punk rock. This sounds like a follow up to "Love Songs For The Retarded" era QUEERS. Since 1982, the QUEERS have been paving the way for the RAMONES style pop punk bands across the globe. This new album will continue their legacy as one of the pioneers of this genre.

This is a lackluster effort from the Queers. No terrible songs but nothing really stands out out and kicks my ass either. I saw them in January and they put on an amazing show so I know they still have what it takes but that is not apparent on this recording. Not bad but definitely not great.

11/28/2010 by Joseph from Cincinnati, OH Rating:
I would have rated this album MUCH higher were the sound quality not so bad. i agree with others here when they say at times you can hardly hear Joe's voice at all. the songs are good (except for keep it punk, i didn't care for that song at all) and it's an album that could have been out at the same time as Grow Up, but i hope that the queers read these reviews and fix the sound problems next time. still look forward to seeing them at the southgate house in a few weeks in Kentucky.

11/24/2010 by Jeffrey from Carey, OH Rating:
Well, Its The Queers ya know, so the song remains the same, but they could not or would not change. It starts and finishes kind of slow with more pop sounding songs, but the tracks in the middle have that non stop riffin of Joe's baratone guitar that I crave.Short and sweet, its good to have some new songs from the legendary Queers.

11/23/2010 by Tyler from Peoria Heights, IL Rating:
Not crazy about, 'back to the basement.' There's some good songs on it, but overall it's very weak. I know the Queers were going for their earlier sound and they succeeded in that, but this album is no 'loves songs,' or 'beat off.'

Maybe, Im just down on this album because Munki Brain was so good.

11/20/2010 by Kevin from Houston, TX Rating:
This is the best Queers release since "Don't Back Down". The intro instrumental track is lame, but after that the whole album shines. I think Joe finally realized no matter how hard he tried, he would never make another "Don't Back Down" so finally he has moved onto writting a album full of gems! This is a new classic. The Queers are back!

11/19/2010 by Ed from Bartlett, IL Rating:
I don't really like this because the vocals are too low and I had way higher expectations from the Queers because most of their recordings are very high quality of the last ten years or so. But ya, I don't recommed it, I bought both formats, but I didn'teven get my autographed poster for pre-ordering, what a shame. I still will probably go see them next month. Just not a big fan of this record, I could see soe old punks really digging this and maybe some new kids because not many records come out these days that have a sound so early 80's as back to the basement.

11/16/2010 by Daniel from Sacramento, CA Rating:
You WILL NOT be disappointed in this album! This could have come out right between "Love Songs For The Retarded" and "Beat Off". It offers more of the Black-Flag-esque Queers songs, but the title track is pure pop-punk genius that made me listen to it over and over again. The Queers still put out the best punk albums, and "Back To The Basement" is a testament to that fact.
