2/20/2011 by Derek from Wheat Ridge, CO Rating:
Most of the scenester kids of yore might find this album to be an unwelcomed departure from their more frenetic earlier works, but if you're like me and have followed the band through their line up changes and sound alterations to know Dillinger to be a little more "mature", you will love this album. Greg's vocals are great, displaying his amazing vocal range and the guitar work is as fantastic as it ever has been. There is some amazing jazz piano on a couple of the tracks that if you know music ability, you can appreciate it for how intricate and technical it is and how it fits perfectly with the sound of the album. Essentially, if you were able to follow DEP from their earlier work to the work with Greg, you will love this album. As I mentioned earlier, if you are a scenester that just doesn't like anything past Calculating Infinity, because you cannot open your mind to their new sound which has the same caliber of musicianship, then you probably won't get it, but perhaps that is for the best...
