Nice voice, nice lyrics, great songs. One of the best bands (maybe the best) of the 90s emo. I'd recommend this album to everyone.

I know I'm supposed to love this album, but I jsut cant bring myself to do it. I really liked "Electric Pink" when I got it a few years ago and I trusted there reputation for good tunes when I bought this, but this album left me wishing that they had made a full length out of elec. pink. By the way....the first song has like two lines to it that they repeat for like 3 solid minutes.....ANNOYING. Not terrible though. Good for someone not looking for much complexity. Just straight ahead, laid back, indie rock.

The Promise Ring is one of those emo bands that simply stands out. Being what I would consider "old-school" for an emo band, The Promise Ring delivers yet another knockout in the form of Nothing Feels Good. The melodic and sometimes repressed guitar licks make you want to curl into the fetal posistion and pray that everything will be ok. The lyrics are spouted like a child whining to his mother when he knows exactly want he wants and how to get it. The stand-out track, as most people have noticed, is Red and Blue Jeans. The off-beat patterns of chorus and simple-yet-enthralling beats of the verses speak to you like few emo bands can these days. If you want to consider yourself a connesieur of emo, this album is a must.

emo supremo. this is THE fucking emo record. i accidentially bought two cds from interpunk and eric was going to buy the other one from me but that tubby bitch hasn't made with cash and that was like a month and a half ago. anyway, eric, randy, bri (and others)and i went and saw them at curly's. rocked my ass steady. they played a set of half "greatest hits" (including the four best songs from this one) and half new stuff from "wood/water". so cool. read my review of "very emergency for another beautifully emo story of that day. i'm outta heeeeere

This is actually David, but anyway, this is a pretty good cd. I actually haven't gotten into it a whole lot, just because I can't constantly listen to this type of music, but for emo, it's better than average.

This cd is great when it comes to the music. But the singing messes it up. The singer signs in the same tone the whole time. ITs gets old after a few songs. All in all its okay.

The Promise Ring is outstanding. This album is a perfect blend of rocking, catchy, & well written songs. The lyrics are good as hell, the music is at times totally rockin, and at times just plain good, melodic, & poppy. it's a winning combination. The Promise Ring are one of the best bands around today and to find out fucking buy this album.
