| Karate High School - Invaders |
San Francisco-based Karate High School formed in 2004, just as the pop-punk music scene officially exploded. After two self-released records, they continue to
unapologetically polarize scenesters everywhere. “Invaders”, their debut commercial release, effortlessly melds metal guitar riffs with electronic accents, forming an
album of true punk rock.

| In the off chance that one of the band members read this:
What happened guys? This is such a deviation from your older stuff, which would be fine in a lot of cases if you want to experiment and try something new, but your sound has immatured so much. It's like you are writing for a much younger audience than you were before. I remember playing with you guys in Illinois at The Shed, and you rocked the everliving crap out of that place. Your singing was awesome, the guitars were so punchy and hard-hitting, and the songs, the electronics, the screaming, all of it, washed the whole place away until we were all screaming at the top of our lungs, begging for more, for one more riff, for one more song. Your song, Sweep The Leg, is a huge part of why I started writing music again, and of why I am thinking of opening a freaking business, for crying out loud. It the opinion of this one guy, who has talked with some of you, and rocked with some of you, that you would do yourself and your old fans a huge favor by returning to your roots and helping us all slam out some aggression.
And to the reader, go to Amazon and buy Arcade Rock, and you'll know what I'm talking about. That album blew my mind. |
