Boys Night Out

Boys Night Out

Ferret Music 82

Released on June 26, 2007

$9.00

Boys Night Out’s eponymous new album demands to be heard, now. The greatest live band from the Great White North has hit their stride, throwing progressive guitar work in the mix with dark pop and heavy but loose rock n’ roll. While countless new bands rely on tired, rehashed images to sell themselves to kids, Boys Night Out recognize the need for real bands to step forth from the shadows and deliver the goods.

This is a very tight album. I personally think that their last album "Trainwreck" was better and even the quality seemed better. I have been listening to BNO since their first album and they always got better but this is a slight step down. Very Slight though. It is still a very great album. Its the awesomeness and fun of "Make Yourself Sick" with the struture and quality(not quite but close) of "Trainwreck". I will probably always like this album and listen to it forever and they defiently created something great here, but I reserve my 5's for albums that still make me crazy in 5 years, this will still be a good album in 5 years just won't be making me go crazy when I listen to it.

BNO is simply just an awesome fucking band. I guarantee many arguments about whether this album or Trainwreck is better. In my opinion this one is. It doesn't really have that whole concept thing going on like trainwreck but it's not as slow and the album keeps a steady pace which i feel was a problem with trainwreck. They did go back to basics with this one I feel but it really sounds like the best parts of Trainwreck mixed with the best parts of Make Yourself Sick to create this awesome, rightly so self titled album.
