THE JUNIOR VARSITY may have grown out of the same field as some of their Illinois indie
rock contemporaries, but the leaves they sprout are of a different color. They have crafted
a style of rock that embraces elements of psychedelic prog and bittersweet pop. They have
created an album of substance, not cliché singles, a true piece of art. Now, on their newest
record Cinematographic, they continue to push themselves and their audience with a fresh
collection of forward thinking, gorgeous melodies.
The new record favors a lush, hook-laden, pop-rock sound not far removed from such artists
as THE POLICE, COUNTING CROWS or LED ZEPPELIN. Their influences are very broad,
making it difficult to pinpoint where the band is coming from, yet that also makes it more
exciting to see where the band is heading. In a way, THE JUNIOR VARSITY is ready to lead
a new revolution with this new record.
Overcoming the trials and tribulations of being constantly on the road, THE JUNIOR VARSITY
have been able to use their experiences and focus them all into the creation of amazing
new music. No doubt about it, THE JUNIOR VARSITY have graduated with honors on
