Not just a side project of the mastermind of germans Punk Oi! band 4 Promille anymore. THE PORTERS are four lads and one chick firmly rooted in the heart of Germany's Ruhrgebiet and Rhineland, united by their deep love for traditional Irish music. An obvious contrast, creating a versatility that shows in the sound of the band. Happy and playful Irish Folk melodies give way to the full monty of pure punk rock energy, tin whistle and accordion provide the background for ballads full of aspiration, banjo and mandolin change to languorously weeping guitars.

| They are The Porters, they drink beer! With so many talented celtic punk/folk bands out there, The Porters are definitely one paddy punk band NOT to be overlooked. This is The Porters 2nd album release followin' their amazin' flair to ol' Irish traditionals found on "A Tribute to Arthur Guinness". Unlike their first album, "Anywhere But Home" has much more depth, originality and has easily become one of my favorite paddy punk albums this year! From the opening track to the catchy yet anthem like "Too Many Pints of Guiness" The Porters take you on a journey where "Going Nowhere" doesn't seem to matter. Included on the album comes an impressive Pogues cover done "Fiesta" style. Yeah this cd is pretty pricey but yer gettin' one amazin' album imported from Germany where the band's from. If yer lookin' to find this album anywhere cheaper, you won't. Order it here! Tracklist includes: 1. The Legend of The Lost 47 Sons 2. Lady Whiskey 3. A Leak in My Heart 4. Crying in My Beer 5. Will You Still Love Me (If I Wet The Bed)? 6. Too Many Pints of Guinness 7. Cheating At Solitaire 8. A Ship Lost it's Way in The Fog 9. Going Nowhere 10. Rumble Regatta 11. The Wings of a Swallow 12. We Call it Punk 13. Fiesta 14. Bantry Bay Boozer
This IS one of the BEST paddy punk albums of 2007! |
