| Leftover Crack/Citizen Fish - Deadline Split |
OVERVIEW:
Two great tastes that taste great together…Fish and
Crack! Well, maybe only for the most refined
palate, but for everyone else the melding of these
two ska/punk powerhouses is oh so sweet to the
ears! Having just completed a month's worth of sold
out shows deemed “Cracktoberfest”, we're confident
that this pairing is a true match made in the
squats of heaven! Five new songs from each band
will have fans of CITIZEN FISH and LEFTOVER
CRACK on the edge of their seats. Each band
takes a stab at covers of the other's current and
past bands. CITIZEN FISH put their spin on LEFTOVER
CRACK's “Clear Channel (Fuck Off!)”, and
“Money” by Choking Victim. Not to be outdone,
LEFTOVER CRACK step in with a crustified version
of “The Super-Market Song” by CITIZEN FISH, followed
by a run at The Subhuman's “Reason For
Existence.” The two bands will join forces again
with another US tour scheduled around the release
of this split!

| There is a personality type that is virtually unsatisfiable. If, when considering something, they can find anything in any way inconsistent with what they feel they are entitled to, they will visciously and completely reject that thing. It stands to reason that these people would be attracted to Leftover Crack, which explains about every 1-3 star review you see for this disc. Stylistically, its slightly less abrasive than what loc fans are accustomed to, in content, its exactly what you would expect, except maybe a little hopeful. Still angry, smart, uncompromised, passionate and fantastic. Plus, Jello jumps in, how boss is that? The Citizen Fish side is pretty good, lotsa horns. Glad to see they omitted rancid from the lyrics in Clear Channel. Rancid's great, goddamnit. |

| Citizen Fish is complete crap. They proved it by butching up a choking victim song and changing the lyrics of L.O.C.'s "clear channel" by replacing Rancid with and...I mean,I thought these guys were punk? If they're too scared to insult a pop "punk" powerhouse because of the fact that they think they might lose a fraction of their fan base, then they should have just just watered down a different L.O.C. song. Those of you that own a copy of "Fuck World Trade" know what I'm talking about.
As far as L.O.C.'s side...It sucks as well,I was surprised at how horrible of a cd this is.This is coming from a guy that says "Fuck World Trade" is one of the greatest albums ever made.
If I could rate each band on this cd,I would give L.O.C.'s side a 2 and C.F.'s side a negative 5 but since I can't use negatives, here ya go.

| i like leftover crack and i don't mind citizen fish. i put this cd in once and now i use it as a coaster on my table, it's not that it's bad, it's just that i've come to expect better from l.o.c..... pretty wimpy.
but maybe if you have low standards you like it. so buy it, or don't... whatever. |

| over all this was very good. this is the first thing i have ever heard from Citizen Fish. i like it alot. british ska/punk is good stuff. and the cover of CV's "Money" was really cool. the cover of "Clear channel" was ok. but they are pretty good. and LOC has always impressed me. "baby punchers" was a really good song. some of there other songs are just kidna there and dont do much. the chorus for "world war 4" is too sing songy. i like some music that is sing songy but not when LOC is doing it. its just not them. the Citizen fish cover was good. i didn't really like the subhumans cover. but over all its worth the money. |

| Man, isnt it great that Fish and Crack (two of the best ska bands ever) have done a split together? I was really excited, mostly for Leftover Crack, but still. So, I get the split, and guess what... I was dissapointed! This was mainly because I had very high expectations. After 5-6 listens, I really began to appriciate the split. I never had any problems with the Citizen Fish side, but it took me a while to appriciate Leftover Cracks new musical direction. I think after 5 listens, you will appriciate this split as much as I do. I think its a great listen. The only thing I would change is Leftover Crack covering Fish and the Subhumans. They don't do their songs very well. Tha Crack Rock steady beat drums the fuck on forever!!! |

| I really don't know about this CD, I had high expectations for it and I know they didn't meet them.
The Citizen Fish part is really good, I like it better then the other CF stuff I've heard. Its faster and overall I'd give it 4.5/5. Their cover of "Money" is really good but the "Clear Channel" one just plain sucks, Dick can't sing as fast as Stza(at least not anymore) and seems to be really having trouble keeping up, that added to the lyric mess-ups(some intentional - The Rancid line - and some not) make it a bad cover of a great song. The rest of the songs are really good, favorites being 2,3 & 5.
Now onto the LoC part. For starters they sound like a completely different band, they've mellowed WAY out and sound a lot poppier(and to any dumbass who doesn't know what I mean by that(Neil from Toronto, ON Canada) I mean it sounds like pop-punk, more Blink 182 then Choking Victim). It took me a long time to get used to this(4 or 6 listens) and I'm still not completely there yet(12+ listens). There is some good stuff here but overall it’s not the LoC we all know and love and compared to their other stuff it’s pretty bad. "Baby-Punchers" is good and so is their cover of "Supermarket Song" but the rest is kinda blah. Overall 3.5/5 - so not the 5/5 I was expecting for sure but not bad.
Do the math and you have a solid 4. Worth buying if you have everything else LoC, CV, MG, CRS7 & InDK have put out but if not then get anything by any of them first. |

| If your a fan of Leftover Crack, then definetly pick this up. Theres some great stuff on here, but if your just getting into them, pick up Fuck World Trade first. And also Mediocre Generica.
I had never heard Citizen Fish before this. I know, where the hell have I been? They sound really good. I didn't however like their covers of LOC and Choking Victims songs. They were alright but I would definetly prefer the originals.
Either way, its all in all a great split. A lot of splits are just throwaway songs that didn't have much work put into them but this doesn't seem the case here. I'd pick it up if you are a fan of either band. |

| Well well well I hate to say it but this is by far Leftover Cracks weakest release, but it was bound to happen especially after "Fuck World Trade", "Mediocre Generica" & "Rock The 40 Oz" kicked so much ass, its really hard to keep releaseing such kick ass shit. However I might be sounding a little harsh on the release. The Citizen Fish stuff is pretty solid ska punk, Meltdown is by far their standout track and the couple LOC covers they do well...their different lets put it that way. The LOC stuff is also pretty good some of the stuff seems slower than most of their songs, Baby Punchers is my personal fav track, and the covers they do of Citizen are Ok also.
The release is not horrible not great just average.

| Citizen fish have some decent tracks on here if your into ska. Leftover crack continue to employ the notorious crack rock steady beat in full force on their half of the CD. Definatly a split to rock the 40oz to. |
