| After hearing a select couple of songs off of this album I put it on a pedestal. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it I thought it would be one of my favourites. Now don't get me wrong it's a solid album I just found it a little disappointing. All the songs sound rather similar especially in the vocals. I would recommend Our Bodies Our Selves first |

| I always heard how this and "Love is Dead" are the two best MTX albums. I even read in an interview that Dr. Frank says that ths album is the only time where he tried to re-create something he'd previously done. I can kind of see that but this album has a much wider variety of sounds to it than the previous one.
I'm still in the process of picking up all of the MTX releases in a scattershot order, so imagine my shock when I go from "Love is Dead" and "Midnight Shift..." to "Yesterday Rules." This album helps to bridge the gap so the shift really doesn't seem that sudden. It's not the flat out rock and roll assault of LID but it's still pretty damn awesome. Plus, any punk rock album with yodeling on it automatically is good to me. |
