Midtown is an amazing band and they put out this superb rock cd, probably one of the best of the entire 2004. "Forget what you know" shows maturity and an excellent songwriting, Gabe's voice has stepped to another level, lyrics are a bit dark which is always a good thing especially from a pop-punk band (which is not even a correct label anymore). Definately a must-have!

I have never seen a band change styles from one cd to the next as much as Midtown has here. I'm all for bands maturing and sounding a little different but Midtown have almost toally changed their style. This cd does not sound anything like their first one. It is way more rock oriented and there aren't really any catchy poppy punk songs like on their first cd. Not that its bad, its just not what I expected from them. Kinda reminds me a little of No Motiv. If you were expecting another poppy cd from these guys dont buy this, but if you are looking more mainstream rock music, you will enjoy this.

at first, i didn't really like this release. after a few listens though, it grew on me and i'm into it now. it initially caught me off guard, they have definately evolved from the pop-punk sound to a more mature rock-oriented vibe. i'd still say that "living well is the best revenge" was superior but this is different and they get points for not putting out the same album again (which many bands do over and over). "give it up" is reminiscent of their old stuff and "waiting for the news" is a great track! don't buy this looking for pop-punk, but if you're into the get up kids newer stuff, then you'll probably dig this album.
