| Personally I think Charge is a five star album, one of my favorites of 2005. I was baffled as to why certain people complained that there were no horns on Charge; those doofus ska fans didn't realize that Charge is amazing none the less and that horns weren't necessary. I enjoy the new direction the Aquabats are taking, leaving the horns behind and going forward with more of a hard rockin' Devo on caffeine type sound.
…but now onto this special edition. First off, let's tackle the 3 b-side songs. Well the song Cheeseburger Politics is just amazing; this song should have originally been a part of the album. The other two songs I can understand why they are b-sides. Video Nite is a bit weird but I have to admit it has a really catchy chorus. Hi-Five City is very b-side material. Alright now onto the DVD; I'll start off with the Fashion Zombies music video. The music video is really great, it's a shame this video wasn't played all the time on those "music video" TV channels. There’s also band commentary and behind the scenes footage for the music video but it's only amusing enough for viewing once.
Moving onto the main feature of the DVD; we are first introduced to the members of the band. Then the band goes into talking about the process of making the album Charge, with footage of the band in the studio making the album, and then each member gives their thoughts on each song on the album Charge. I found this to be very entertaining and it was pretty neat to hear everyone talk about each song from the album. There is also some trailers on this DVD that were made before Charge was released with footage of them goofing off in the studio.
So in conclusion, do I think the DVD and 3 b-side songs are worth paying the extra $6.50 to have over the original version? Yes… but the problem is that it's only really worth it for the more diehard Aquabats fans. You know the type of fan that would really enjoy hearing what each member has to say about the album & etc. For the more casual fan or new Aquabats fan I feel that they can probably do without shelling more bucks for the DVD & 3 extra songs.
The other problem is that the more diehard Aquabats fans would have already purchased Charge back when it first came out so it feels kind of lame having to pay $18 for an album I already own just so I can get the DVD footage and the 3 b-side songs. So because of that I feel like I can't give them any higher than a 4. Part of me wants to give it 3 stars because this is an obvious cash ploy getting their fans to buy the same album twice but hey, the Aquabats are good people and they surely deserve to have cash to eat food & etc.
So Aquabats fans, like me, that can forgive the Aquabats for tempting me to pay for an album that I already owned for the extra content, enjoy! For everyone else, just buy the regular edition of Charge!! |

| I love this cd, in my opinion it's the best aquabats cd to date. Usually I don't like Re-issues of cd's that just barely came out because it includes like extra unreleased songs that aren't good and irrelevant 5 minute long footage of nothing. But with Charge it's different, The extra songs are good and the dvd is awesome. I did not expect Bat Commander to look like that and He is funny as fuck and I was entertained the whole time! Even if you aren't a fan of charge the dvd is worth it. |

| 4 1/2 stars. Buy it, unless you've already bought the original Charge. The three new tracks are amusing but not worth paying for the album twice, and the DVD focuses mostly on the Fashion Zombies video. Overall, it's best described as fun electro-nerd-pop-punk. |

| New songs aren't that great but the dvd is hilarious. But would you expect anything else from the AB's? |
