| Plenty of ups and downs on this disc. At their best, Portrait created moments of incredible beauty. "Missing the Shore" and "Constellations...", for instance, are amazing pieces of art. There are definitely things on here that I could have done without, such as the horrible attempts at clean vocals on a couple of occasions: the guy misses every single note, and it's so bad they ruin entire songs. That's only in a couple of tracks though and otherwise this is a really solid example of early screamo that I find surprisingly difficult to compare to other bands (always a good thing). Maybe a less jazzy Off Minor, with a viola player? Besides a couple of moments of complete awfulness, and a slight need for remastering, the vast majority of the material on this record is necessary listening for anyone who enjoys Level Plane-type stuff. |

| Completely amazing. The blend of drums and the guitar with violin, bass and vocals- its all like WOW to the extreme. Song number 6, Missing The Shore, is mondo orgasmic, I love it- no, I make love with it. I highly recomend that anyone who's anyone to buy this, now! |
