Another great CD from the Trio. But not as good as Good Mourning and Remains. Their lyrics are pretty pathetic i must say, but they are definitely worth getting. Best songs: Time to Waste, Mercy Me, I was a Prayer, and Smoke. Worth it.

This is actually Dave Norman from Waterloo, Guelph, Whitby ONTARIO and Stow OHIO.

Waaaay too polished. I don't really like anything after From Here To Infirmary, so if you liked their last album you'll like this. Goddammit is by far their best album. Too bad ... even with the bonus disc. Apparently they only record great albums with Asian Man, although FHTI was pretty decent.

This cd is brilliant, but it is alkaline trio so that goes without saying. over time they are creeping up my ladder of favorite bands. the album is very well produced and mixed. prevent this tragedy is definately the best song on the cd. it tells a short story of the west memphis three (and if you do not know who they are or what they are known for you need to do a google search for them and read about it) from all sides of the story. i can listen to this cd straight thru over and over again...well i usually cut out tracks 9 and 13 (kinda boring songs). the bonus cd is pretty cool. garage demo type of recording of the songs when they were first written. also a few misc. acoustic versions of songs from crimson. honestly, you arent wasting your money if you buy this cd. so get your fucking credit card out right now and buy the goddamm thing!!

Alkaline Trio's new album rubbed alot of their older fans the wrong way. I wasn't one of 'em though. On this double disc you get home demos & acoustic versions of the songs prior to being recorded for the actual album, as well as the actual album. The demos give you a good idea of how the songs came about. This is definately a fan only sort of release, but it's well worth it. I just wish they would've put it out at the time of the original album. That way fans could've chosen which version they want instead of having to fork out for both. For shame Alkaline Trio...for shame.

alkaline trio has been one of my favorite bands for almost 6 years now. i've seen them twice, and they're a great fucking band.

this album is awesome. in my opinion, it isn't as good as their self-titled album or MICF, but it's a great album nonetheless.

some really rough and unedited stuff from crimson...i would only recommend to a hardcore ak3 fan.....WATOOSH!!!!

12/26/2005 by Graham from Co Wicklow, Ireland Rating:
Crimson was released earlier in 2005 with 13 solid tracks on there and may have finally put Alkaline Trio in the mainstream. 6 months down the line and something has gone wrong. Even with the success of 2 singles off it (Time to Waste and Mercy Me), it just seems like a bit of a cash grabber in the run-up to Christmas, and its fools like me that they're after too.

Most bands nowadays, using the Internet as a main way of promoting their stuff, let their fans download their demo material a few months after the release of that particular album. Whether the decision of releasing this album was down the the band themselves or greedy record label employee's, it remains to be known.

The demo tracks seem very bare, yes thats what they're meant to be but its like anyone can just pick up an instrument, spend 5 minutes at a studio and lay this stuff down. As an Alkaline Trio fan, I'd like to think that the band had no say in the decision of releasing this or not, but I dont think thats the case.

If you dont have the orginal version of Crimson or this deluxe one, buy the orginal one and save yourself the few dollars. If you've already got the orginal, I recommend you give this one a miss

12/14/2005 by Thor from Fairmont, MN Rating:
yeah i'm a huge alk3 fan so this was just what i wanted. if you even own and like just 1 of their albums, pick this up, 27 songs that are all pretty long and some are really rough sounding too which is sweet. the only thing that sucks is that on the demos matt doesn't have the bridges and some of verses written yet. o well. pick this shit up.

12/12/2005 by Andrew from Portland, OR Rating:
This is just thier new cd with extra stuff. Alkaline Trio was best while they were on Asian Man. The on Vagrant, From Here to Infirmary was good but a step down. Then Good Mourning was just a flop. This is a big step up from Good Mourning. So this cd is good if you really like them, or at the same time if you have never heard them and like this type of stuff, get it, whatever.

12/11/2005 by Andrew from Elmhurst, IL Rating:
The normal release already gets a perfect five. So with the demos and acoustics it's still gonna get my highest reccomendation. The poison is the best song. Great album.
