Regulations follow up their two super hot 7"s with a full throttle full length of catchy hardcore punk rock. Featuring ex members of ETA, these guys left the wild thrash of their youth behind for a more song driving approach to hardcore. The result was a return to the early LA hardcore roots style. Regulations jam in the crucial style of early Black Flag, Circle Jerks, or Adolescents. Imagine a mix of recent Scandinavian bands like Amdi Petersen's Arme, Young Wasteners, DS 13 or No Hope for the Kids. Umeå, Sweden has fostered some of the best hardcore bands of the past decade. From thrashers like DS 13, Rabid Grannies and ETA, classic Swedish punk bands like Knugen Faller and Tristess and raw crust bands like Dodsdömd and 365 Dagar Av Synd. Regulations emerge from this fertile musical ferment to deliver some totally off the hook hardcore punk with tunes that will stick in your head after just one listen. Look for them on tour in the USA in October/November.

Damn, Regulations are a really awesome hardcore band from Sweden. They sound like they could have come from California in the late 70's/early 80's. So many great songs on here; Anna's Eyes, My Life My Problems, I Don't Need, Police Sirens, and Sex With Jesus are highlights. I wish I wouldn't have been so naive and skipped out on seeing them live when they toured the U.S. Oh well, hopefully they'll come back in a few years and I won't be dumb enough to make the same mistake twice.

Sweden's got some great hardcore and punk. Some of which i prefer over american hardcore/punk. so. like this(and Victims, and tons of others). one of my friends thought the singer sounded like johnny rotten. i didnt think that. regulations have drawn plenty of circle jerks comparisons, which i could understand more, but as i listen to the cd more and more i love it more and more. well, also you tend to notice that they are not a "new circle jerks" but, really an amazing band in 2006 that sounds like they could be in 84. Until you hear them, they might seem a bit hyped or something, but once you do you'll get it. There's not much more to say i guess, just you get it or you don't. so hopefully you do, cause they are a fast angry auditory pleasure.

Holy shit. I would have thought this was recorded in California around 1987 if I didn't know better. That is a huge compliment from me. This sounds like a cool re-issue from a lesser known band on say, the "Someone's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In" Compliation. I can understand the Circle Jerks comparison, but The Regulations seem to be more serious. Some of the songs are political but they don't beat you over the head or preach. I was expecting it to be a little bit more crusty punk because of the label. Its just a straight up punk release for anyone who is in to old school hardcore -punk before the metal ruined it. I'm listening to it as I type and I can't say enough about how rad this is. Check it out if you like your punk angry and raw. This is solid from start to finish. WOW!

Being that this band is from Sweden, I guess I can sort of understand the Scandinavian comparisons....but, I'm going to give it to you straight. Most of the bands mentioned in the item description are great, but it is a little misleading. Saying that the Regulations emerged from the same background as crust bands such as Dodsdomd....well, okay, they are both from Sweden and they are both punk....but this is like saying these guys emerged from the same "fertile musical ferment" as Abba. Are the Regulations good? YES. Does it sound kinda like the Germs "G.I." LP crossed with the Black Flag "Jealous Again" EP? YES. Have you ever heard of the Eyes on those Dangerhouse records comps? This sounds sorta like that too. Features everyone from E.T.A. except for the bass player, and if you enjoyed the last E.T.A. album you'll probably like this, it's just more punkish and less hardcore-like.
