Horace Pinker - Texas One Ten
Horace Pinker

Texas One Ten

Thick 108

Released on May 17, 2005

Sorry, but this item is no longer available

Texas One Ten is a perpetual road trip that started in Southern California in 1991 and culminates here and now. A defining album, 12 tracks of gritty and street-smart punk rock from a band who’s been there from the beginning. Outlasting many of their contemporaries by being about the music and message, HP seem to have reached enlightenment. This new record recorded with Mass Giorgini (Screeching Weasel, Rise Against, The Methadones) at Sonic Iguana studios, is a superlative effort relentless in its pursuit of volume, dynamics and intensity.

CD is enhanced with a video for More At Home, photos, and more.

8/29/2006 by Gavin from Belfast, United Kingdom Rating:
The last Horace Pinker album I bought was Burn Tempe to the Ground, which was about 10 or 12 years ago I think. I was none too impressed with that one & consequently did'nt feel the need to buy any of their others, until I happened upon this new one, downloaded a track, liked it & gave them another shot. This album is nothing like Burn Tempe..., it's slower, shorter, a little more diverse & overall much more enjoyable. It's not going to set the world alight, but does contain a lot of thoroughly listenable songs, medium paced structured pop punk with a few great melodies & very touching lyrics. I'd recommend this to fans of any of the new Hopeless bands (Amber Pacific etc) & maybe something like newer Audio Karate, you could do worse.
