Sweeping in off the frosty plains of Minneapolis, MN, like a full-force gale, Motion City Soundtrack took the indie scene by storm with their 2003 debut, "I Am The Movie." As spellbinding as that album is, "Commit This To Memory" represents a major step forward, a breakthrough release in the tradition of Jimmy Eat World's, "Bleed American" or AFI's, "Sing The Sorrow" - a masterpiece of pop harmonies and singalong choruses layered on top of their trademark angular guitars, loopy synths, and stop/start dynamics.

Wow - what an album! I just <3 MCS!!! 'When You're Around' DEFINITELY the best song on here by FAR! All of them are good on some level though! Unfortunately I missed them touring in the UK on this album, but I'm assured it was good =D ANYWAY yeah if you like MCS you should definitely buy this album!

8/16/2005 by Andy from Crestview, FL Rating:
This album is soso. I saw them at warped tour and they sounded cool so I decided to pick this up. A bit of a disapointer but its still ok.

7/4/2005 by Jeff from North Bay, ON Canada Rating:
motion city soundtrack has brought out another solid effort. this has shown growth and maturity in their songwriting, but holding onto their trademark style. the better songs are still coated with heavy moog and keyboard loops. the standout track is "when you're around" - a song that could be a radio single if it weren't for the multiple f***s in the lyrics!

6/21/2005 by Ryan from Shelby Twp, MI Rating:
All around good release.. theres nothing to set it apart from anything else, but there's a few catchy songs on it. Tracks 1, 2 and 3 are IMHO the best on the record.

6/9/2005 by Chris from Bountiful, UT Rating:
Much better than their last release, although no song on this cd can compare to "Future Freaks Me Out" but the cd as a whole is much better. Its not as poppy and sounds more depressed than happy like I am the movie.

6/6/2005 by Carrie from Wilmette, IL Rating:
As soon as i put this CD into my computer and turned the speakers on I felt something special. This CD is a million times better than "I am the Movie," and that is one amazing CD!! The lyrics are amazing- telling a story pure effluent emotion. This CD is a must have for every MCS fan, and everyone who feels that amazing lyrics, catchy hooks, great vocals, and an incredible display of self expression deserves a chance in their CD player. Every song sticks out as being amazing - this is a CD you can put on repeat for hours and not get tired of. It's perfect.
